Mine used a sewing needle instead of a garden hose or thimble. Am I in trouble?? Also I think I stretched it with my soda through a straw!! OH NO!!! Did that cover the urban legends? Mine is 34. But my stomach is not the same size as every other person with a 34. Because every anatomy is different. God I hope I'm not sounding judgmental or hijacking the thread. I did talk about bougies. :-)

I have 12 right now. Where the tat is located plays a major role in how it's effected. Places like foot, upper shoulder/chest, leg, lower arm, upper back, ankle won't be as effected. Hips, stomach, ribs, butt, boob will be more effected. If you got it prior to weight gain it would have stretched with your skin. If its in an area prone to lose skin it won't bounce back as well and may have more of the deflated balloon look. If you got it after the weight gain, it might look more distorted.

Self pay but hoping my pcp will help with lab work so insurance will pay some
Heyher replied to cumbie76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay and my insurance paid for the pathology fee for my stomach after surgery. They paid for all my blood work. They paid for my cpap machine. They paid for my O2 when I got home from the hospital. And I got a letter of denial saying they wouldn't pay for ANYTHING related to my surgery. Heck the orders came from my bariatric surgeon. :-) I'm not questioning it. I'm staying quiet and saying nothing. After all the crap they put me through, I figure its the least they could do. -
Thank you so much for all the positive feed back. Your kind words really mean a lot!

Thank you! People tell me how much better I look, and I smile and say thank you. Because I don't want to be the person who says "yeah I'm still fat". But that is totally how I feel. I hope in time I will see it.

What foods are you eating? Water intake? Grams of protein? Carbs? Calories?

So Governor Christy had lapband surgery.
Heyher replied to Sleeve Goddess's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good for him. And double kudos for him speaking about it publicly. It takes a lot of courage to have the surgery. Even more to speak about it as someone in the public eye. I'm sure he weighed the pros and cons of each surgery and decided on what was the best personal decision for him. We are very biased about the sleeve. Same with people about the bypass and the band. If you go to the band talk forum, I'm sure you will read so many stories about people who are in love with the band. I hope the band works for him. And if it unfortunately doesn't, I hope he looks at all his surgical options. -
Maurice's and NY&Co are my go to. Also black house white barn, gap/banana republic, American eagle, and the loft.

In two and a half months I have gone from 20 in tops & bottoms and 40ddd bra to 13/14 pants, XL tops and 38d bra. When I fold my clothes I think there is no way they will fit me. When I put the clothes on, they fit. And fit well. I want my brain to catch up already lol!!! HW 250 DOS (2/26) 245 Today 198

How does it feel to be full?
Heyher replied to gibson_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me my new full is feeling satisfied. I no longer feel empty. If I take one bite too many I can feel it almost in the back of my throat. Almost like it is stuck there and if I were to burp it would come back up. I try not to get to that point... But sometimes my eyes and my mind deceive me. That's why I measure. I know at 2.5 months out a 1/3 of a cup of dense protein will get me to the feeling ob being satisfied, but not miserable. -
what's the difference between something that fits and something that's tight?
Heyher replied to coops's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm not a vet, sorry. But I thought I would throw out a suggestion... Maybe go to a boutique type store and ask the sales person what shape might look best. Then try three sizes. One a size bigger, the size you think you need, and one smaller. Go with what you feel confident in. When you look in the mirror be honest about how you feel in the clothes. What makes you hold your head higher and stand taller? Don't think about how others will perceive you. Focus on if the clothes make you happy and confident. :-) -

LoL!! I have called them bingo wings for as long as I can remember. I have started some toning. Bingo wings suck. But I'll take them over being obese any day. :-D

Challenge: 1st Day of Summer Weigh-In
Heyher replied to Ima Loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Update. I'm down to 202 this morning. 22lbs to reach my 6/21 goal of 180. Fingers crossed I can make it.... -
Yes. It's the excess skin on the upper arm. :-)

Self-advancement of diet?
Heyher replied to patsybrown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't advance until your doc gives the go ahead. -
So I am two months out and I have gone from eating 3oz of shrimp to maybe 2oz. I don't think it is increased restriction, but maybe my nerves in my tummy aren't as numb anymore. Also lost 40 lbs in two months.

Increased restriction? And 2mo loss
Heyher replied to Heyher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you. Hearing other people get the same feeling helps me feel a little more sane. I'm missing fountain soda. That has been eating at me. And Wendy's. But buying clothes from regular stores, tiring my shoes, and not running out of breath going up stairs is so much better.
