Where are the apple shapes?!
Heyher replied to NewAshes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here are my 4 month photos. -
curious where other ppl are at around 3.5 mths out
Heyher replied to NicoleLpn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 4 months out. I'm down 65lbs. Highest weight was 250. DOS was 245. Today 183. My weight loss has slowed a lot. Have about 25lbs more to go. I think those last 25 are going to be a pain. But I want to get to 170 by my dress fitting in September and maintain until after my wedding in October. Then kick it back up to drop the last 15. -
Where are the apple shapes?!

Apple shape here. Down 65lbs and not looking so round. The pic is a month old so I will post updated pics when I take them this weekend. -
Go to a plastic surgeon. They can write the recommendation that it is not a cosmetic surgery. If your GP doesn't want to help, go to one that will. As patients we have the right to choose a doctor who will work with us. We don't work for the doc. Their job is to provide medical assistance. Not push their beliefs or personal agendas on us.

Came home with a new sleeve & a bad cold!

I would advise the op to consult the surgeon about taking any OTC meds so soon after surgery -

So soon after surgery I think all you can do is ride it out. Stick to water and broth. Avoid oj. Too much acid on a fresh wound. -
Soft diet starts today! Blah.
Heyher replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was three weeks out I did not want food at all. Nothing sounded good. But follow your docs plan. They have a method to their madness. As far as loss stalling or slowing, your body just went through A LOT!! It might need a little time to adjust. It will come off. -
I will keep them crossed that they approve you soon!

Keeping fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

I am 4 months post op and have been living with MS for 10 years this November. I was lucky because my neurologist was 150% on board with the surgery. Having MS and all the other health risks with being obese was enough to get his blessing. Also there was the much added benefit of added mobility. Something that people with ms struggle with already. I have not had any real issues since surgery. But my one warming is make sure you don't skip on vitamins, especially b12. Vitamin deficiency can really mess with MS. If you have questions, please feel free to pm me and I will answer to the very best of my ability.

Four months out and I hit my first stall. I was down 60lbs a month ago. Now it is 64. ( was 65 but gained a pound over my birthday weekend) I have been at the same weight for about 2 1/2 weeks. Not complaining as I knew this was bound to happen. Just stinks that it did. I will just keep on keeping on. This weight will come off. Guess my body just needed a rest. :-)

Wow!!! So glad you are okay!!! And good luck on your up coming test!! -
Try small sips spaced out. If you are drinking thicker shakes too much at one time may upset your tiny stomach.

6 weeks out, my tummy is making weird noise.
Heyher replied to piercedqt78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 months out on Wednesday and my tummy makes all kinds if noises. Have a little sound track playing under my shirt. -
So for my birthday over the weekend I decided to give myself a nasty hangover and gain a pound. Oh well. Totally worth it!!! Time to get back and hit it hard!!!!

I miss being able to gulp down a bottle of Water. In the dry 90 degree heat it was my saving grace. I shake my fist at you cotton mouth!!!! 4 months out and still get the sicky feeling if I drink too fast.

7.5 pound gain... dammit
Heyher replied to princesstia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your close to TOM, then yeah it's probably Water. Not to mention sodium in the pizza helped hold in the water. Couple good pees and you should be fine. Congrats on your loss!! :-) and for fighting pizza for that long too!! -
Challenge: 1st Day of Summer Weigh-In
Heyher replied to Ima Loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my goal set at 180 for 1st day if summer. I'm stuck at 185. :-( But I did lose 25lbs. Got into onederland. And now am no longer obese. Maybe I can drop 5 by the 4th of July. Weight loss has slowed a bunch, but not giving up!!! -
Any sleever with lupus on here?
Heyher replied to O2BSkinny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don't have lupus but I have ms and fibro. I feel great. Down 65lbs in 3 1/2 months. Biggest thing is make sure you take the vitamins every day. B12 is a absolute must. -
At three months out I tried Pepsi next. What I like about it is I doesn't taste as sweet as regular soda and it doesn't seem as fizzy. So now I indulge sometimes. BUT I do count the calories and sugar towards my daily goal and stick to one can a day when I do drink it
