    Nausea

I was sleeved on 12/17 and the nausea has been bad. My doctor prescribed a med called Protonix which has been a miracle. I take it as soon as my eyelids open....seriously...I keep it by my bed with a bottle of water so I can get it down. Protonix is also an acid reducer. I would contact your surgeon and see if there's anything he can prescribe to you to help.

    Ouch!

I was sleeved on 12/17 and everyday is getting better. There are still times when everything hurts going down, but I have realized that if it hurts going down then that means I have taken too big of a sip. I cannot say enough how much walking helps!! I was drinking chicken broth in the hospital but I have found for whatever reason, when I am hungry, vegetable broth is much better. I understand having a rough time, because this week was the worst. I have gone through moments where I think "what the hell did I do to myself" but then I remember my mantra from the very beginning, which is "I chose health over food" It is not easy because just laying in bed watching tv while resting, how many commercials do you see for food? And those thoughts about why I did this to myself creep in. However, in the long run, I just have to keep doing what I have always done when things get tough, keep focused on my goals and remember how good it will feel when I can go shopping for the clothes that make me feel beautiful and not the clothes that I shop so intracately for to cover up all of my rolls and fat and everything that makes me feel bad about my body. If you are on this journey, you are already a success....just remember that. It is not about vanity, it is about finding a future for ourselves that doesnt consist of multiple medications, diseases, and days spent in the hospital because of those conditions. My future will be better because I choose to get healthy, even if I can't see past the pain and soreness and mind-hunger at the moment. Happy Holidays everyone!!

    Ugh!

Thanks ladies!!! My surgeon wants me to lose 25lbs before surgery and right now I'm down 8lbs since 7/2. I'm really trying hard and I pretty much went cold turkey with carbs.....I haven't been allowing myself very much since I saw my nutritionist last wed. I have to stay away from all the things I was eating because if I don't get that "taste" in my mouth then I don't get the craving for it (if that makes sense). I think a lot of it is that I'm not eating as much as I guess I could be and also I feel like I'm the only one that is changing and no matter how supportive my hubby is in my mind I feel like he's not doing enough because he's not "changing" too. So maybe I have to give myself more mental space/time to adjust to everything that's going on. I'm getting sleeved in September and most times I feel like I just wanna get this all over with so I can be in the "recovery" stage and move on with my life . Maybe it's just a pity party day!!! LOL

    Ugh!

I am about 5 days into my pre-op low carb high protein diet and I'm having a lot of issues......I am doing pretty well diet wise, I know I need to add in a protein shake or two and up my wAter intake. My issue is ever since I started it my attitude/anger has gone through the roof!!! Everything is making me snap and it's really making my life difficult and I am pushing my hubby away when all he has done up to this point is be supportive!! I am very frustrated. Anyone have any advice or experiencing this themselves??
  9. Am getting sleeved in October and was jut wondering what the post-op vitamins routine is.
  10. Ok so I saw my "NUT" on Wednesday and yesterday was the first day of my diet as I have to lose 25lbs before surgery in October. I did really well but it has like hell on earth!!!! She has me on low carb/high protein and I have to say I was like a monster yesterday!!! I am an EMT and I work 13hr shifts and all day I work yesterday I felt like I was going to bite someone because of the hunger I was feeling!!!! LOL Sorry....I just needed to vent!!! This pre-op diet sucks!!! I hope it will get better as my body gets used to this change. Anyone else experiencing this?
  11. You sound so much like me!! I am a pre-sleeve and an August baby (aug 23)!!! I am getting sleeved in october and I just want to tell you that your story is very inspiring to me.....so thanks!! I also was just wondering about your hair loss. I have very long and thick curly hair and am curious as to what's going to happen to it after surgery. Did yours fall out gradually or very quickly? Has it started to come back in yet? I am sorry for asking such personal questions but I love my hair and am very nervous about losing it!!! Congrats on your success...u look amazing girlie!!!
