Have you ever heard of the word PUTZ ?

I'm worried about the statement that it is pouring out,this is indicitive of a gastric bleed which should be checked out at the very least. Hopefully it is just a hemorrhoid. However the pouring out concerns me. Most cities have an urgent care facility, or you may opt to be checked out by a nurse practitioner which is a fraction of the cost..

walnuts and pecans only have 4 carbs each and 2 fiber if you are following a low carb diet :wub: and that is for 1/4 cup!

A little off topic but how is your blisters?

I'm a nurse and I must tell you to call your PCP and tell them what is happening ASAP!!!. Or go the the ER if you don't have a family Dr. If the blood is bright red that means it is probably localized in the bowel. If the blood is black and thick in nature like tar then it is from higher up, more than likely in the stomach or esophagus. This is very urgent that you hear my message, I sent you another message but don't know where it went so if you received it then no that this second one means URGENT. Please let me know what happens. If its dark and tar like substance its more than likely from higher up like in the stomach. PLEASE don't wait one more day and please let me know what the out come is. Debbie

Congrat's Miztialady that was amazingly fast!, I'm am also from Arizona but am having my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Rod, and Dr. Elmo probably in December, due to having an eroded band. I had that nasty thing out June 28th and am looking forward to Dec and a new me...Deb

HELLO TO ALL, MY NAME IS DEBBIE, I AM 59 YRS OLD AND ON JUNE 28TH TRAVELED TO JUAREZ MX FOR A REVISION WITH DR RODRIGUEZ AND DR ARAMBURO (GREAT SURGICAL TEAM BTW) HOWEVER WHEN I WOKE UP FROM SURGERY I WAS TOLD THE BAD NEWS THAT THE REVISION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED DUE TO EROSION. AFTER ALOT OF CRYING, THE DR EXPLAINED THE AREA AROUND, ONTOP OF, AND UNDER THE BAND WAS INCASED WITH SCAR TUSSUE, INFLAMATION, AND TONS OF ABDOMINAL Fluid. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE SCAR TISSUE WAS WEAK AND MUSHY AND HE COULD NOT CONTINUE BECAUSE THE STAPLES WOULD NOT HAVE HELD. HE ALSO THOUGHT THAT MY BODY HAD REJECTED THE BAND FROM THE START. HE ALSO GAVE ME THE NEWS THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 6 MONTHS FOR MY STOMACH TO HEAL ENOUGH TO GET MY SLEEVE. I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR FORUM, YOUR UPS AND DOWNS, AND TRULY I NEED TO FIND MY NICH AND FRIENDS TO TALK TO, COULD THIS BE THE RIGHT FORUM? ( sorry I just discovered my caps lock key was on )

I feel great since surgery, my band was in for 7yrs. about a year and a half ago my band failed, which I know now that it eroded, since then I have had no restriction and unfortunately gained my weight back. Man it came back fast, when your body is used to a small amt of calories and then you give it more....well you know what I mean. I also discovered this year that I have diabetes, so far diet controlled and I also have HTN. I started looking into getting this band fixed about 6months ago when I just felt awful all the time and my stomach was always tight and I constantly had a bloated feeling I knew something wasn't right, that's when I found out about the gastric sleeve. I am a nurse and never heard of it?? so I started to research the sleeve and decided that it was for me. I decided on my Dr. and then sched. the revision. My Dr. is Jose Rodriguez out of Juarez,MX. When he got in there he found that my erosion was only to the outside of my stomach...BUT!! I had a lot of inflammation, mucus filled my abdominal cavity and the outside of my stomach was mushy, so he could not go forward with the sleeve. When I woke up and he told me I was very lucky that they had discovered this as it could have been disastrous, and that he felt that my body had rejected the band from the beginning, also I have to wait 6months for the revision. I was devastated! first of all that was my worst nightmare that I would wake up without the sleeve and then to realize how lucky I was to be alive after what he told me. My lifestyle has already changed for the better, I feel good and that' s a blessing, also since finding out about the diabetes I have cut out all simple sugars and my diabetes so far is in control, I haven't lost any weight to speak of I go down 5lbs and then just go back up 5lbs. such a roller coaster, I am trying to take control of my calorie intake and take off a few pds before my surgery in December. I stayed in control of my weight when I had restriction with the band so that's why I have gravitated to the sleeve and believe the idea of removing the band and getting the sleeve virtually saved my life. Oh by the way I'm from Calif. originally, I was born in San Diego, was raised in Fullerton, then raised my family in the Lake Arrowhead area for 25yrs., then in 2000 moved to the white mountains in beautiful Arizona.....Keep in touch...Deb

Stop popping those blisters sister !!!! and take off that spandex, you may have an allergy to something, call your Dr's exchange and report what's happening, but for sure call his office first thing Monday morning. If they itch try putting a cold compress or ice bag on the site 10 min on 10 min off. this will help with the itch.

I can not imagine why they still offer in most places this awful band...It was supposed to be a forever thing, but in most cases its not. I don't know anyone who is happy with it. Thanks for your encouraging words Katie713

Katie713, Thanks for the welcome and encouraging words and yes they did remove the band and port and a lot of other gunk as well. Since surgery on the 28th of June I have been trying to eat high protein and have managed to loose 5lbs. I am trying to stay positive and am looking forward to December for my Christmas sleeve

Hi SilviaMom I hate to hear that there is someone with my woes but glad to have someone to talk to all the same. Thank you for your encouraging words but this is so new to me my revision or as it was band removal happened on the 28th of June. I also was / am devastated at the out come. My surgeon is Dr Rodriquez and Dr Aramburo, they work out of TJ once a month and Juarez the rest of the month, I went to Juarez for mine, Star Medical. I also am afraid to balloon up before my sleeve. Can you tell me what is the percentage rate of leakage with a 6 month wait and having scar tissue Dr. Rod. never said it would be a problem, but that I must wait 6mo until I am completely healed. He told me that my body rejected the band from the beginning because he found a tremendous amt of inflammation, abdominal fluid, and scar tissue. Under the band placement the tissue was mushy. The staples would not have held but pulled away. He said I was very lucky to have come in when I did. I also hated the band but would never have admitted it because it was at least controlling my amounts until it failed 1 yr ago, then I put back all the weight I had lost when I had no resistance. losing the resistance and being able to eat eat eat made me ravenous at times. I to have lost about 5lbs since the 28th and hopefully can continue to at least maintain until the sleeve can be done.

I'm also going to book mark this sounds great!! I'm going to try fresh Parmesan in mine instead of cheddar...OOH YUM... thanks for the recipe

Silviamom...When did you have your band removed? I have heard the 30% chance of leakage is when you have the revision, but if you wait 6 months and everything is healed the chance of leakage goes way down. I also don't have any interest in bypass, to many risks for me. when do you plan on having your sleeve? mine will be around Xmas or right after the first of the year.

donniej,,, Hello I just got back from trying to have a revision but I also had erosion. My erosion did not go into my stomach, I guess I compared to you am very lucky. Leakage is now my biggest nightmare, my Dr said I would have to wait 6months for my sleeve. What do you think your leak was related to, the severity of your erosion?. And also how soon after your sleeve did you have the leak?. One more question do you know how long after surgery we have to worry about this kind of thing happening?... Thanks Debbie
