Let me first repeat again that Dr Marsden is a great man and surgeon. With that said, switching from marsden to kim only cost me about 3 weeks. I started kim's preop diet, his staff worked on getting my paper work from marsden and all was well. I can tell you, marsden spent almost an hour with me discussing band vs sleeve and at no time did he push one over the other. He simply got me talking about lifestyle, goals, what I was comfortable with etc. Good luck

I went back and forth between Dr. Kim and Dr. Marsden... Marsden - Great guy. Well respected surgeon, especially in the lap band world. Very very friendly and able to help me make a good decision on what was best for me. Call's often required next day call backs. Several promises were not kept by his staff. Only had done a dozen sleeves as of june'ish when i met him. Kim - Not as much of a personable guy. Very well respected sleeve surgeon. Staff was great. Completed over 1,200 sleeves. I chose Dr Kim, but doubt either would be a bad choice.

Tmi Warning: I Am As Horny As A Toad!
Ijam75 replied to CJ_Redux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A- I love this forum B- I love this thread C- I'm wanting it 24/7/365... my wife is OK with that Sent from my mobile productivity killer. -
I only had that problem one time after taking some miralax (sp?). I hadn't taken care of my business in a few to many days, so I mixed the recommended dose in some Water per my doc. I spent the next 24 hrs with a gurgling gut but no progress... The next morning I got off the couch and did the manly celebration of a good fart aka lift leg high and aim it... oops it wasn't just a fart... Did I mention we don't wear clothes in our house? Thank god for hardwood floors... TMI? Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

Surgery In Three Days... Anyone Else Get Cold Feet ?
Ijam75 replied to Jadesatin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, its normal. I would have crawled out of the bed as they were wheeling me to the OR, but that darn doc had me drugged up and my limbs didn't work. Sent from my mobile productivity killer. -
I had my band resized, so no more worries about losing it. It only cost $35, why not just get it sized a few times along the way? Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

I thought of this thread when I rolled over onto my back this morning and damn near broke the ceiling fan. NSV Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

So not being able to ride yet is killing me. I'm pain free, but once in a while while in the car and hitting a bump I get some pain (damn fat moving around), so I'm staying off the bike for a while. What do you ride? Are you a garage monkey like me? Can't leave well enough alone? Here is my 2012 Road Glide. 2/1 exhaust, HD Air cleaner and cams I just installed a few weeks ago. Sounds mean with a lumpy idle now and pulls like a train.

Omg Protein Killer
Ijam75 replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure zero Carb has 40g of Protein in a 20oz bottle, is a clear and easy to swallow if you find a flavor you like. Sent from my mobile productivity killer. -
Good for you all who have identified an addiction an addressed it. I never drank often, but when i'm with my buddies we have a tendency to go full bore. Is it a coincidence that my surgeon allows alcohol 3 months after surgery and two of my buddies are flying across the country to come see me exactly 3 months from surgery date?

Having A Hard Time...and A Tad Regret
Ijam75 replied to soontobeskinnymini's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope you get fixed up soon. I will say that somewhere around 2.5 weeks post-op, I went from sips of water to being able to chug a 20oz bottle in about 10mins. -
I stopped paying for the Greek yogurt, as I just couldn't justify the cost, carbs or calories when compared to other options. I.e. Kroger brand Carb master has 60 calories instead of 130, 4 carbs vs 22 and still has 8g Protein. If those 4g of protein where going to leave me short is find a way to work around that. YMMV Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

Cottage cheese with a small scoop of sugar free polander preserves and Hormel turkey chili (no beans). For others that do eat beef, the beef chili is the best one pureed but isn't as healthy. Scrambled egg with a dash of shredded hard parm, egg salad, etc. Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

Pickled sliced beets. Yup, sounds gross but then again I make my tuna with brown mustard. Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. As others mentioned, a food journal would be a great idea. I'm sure your mother is looking down and cheering you on, trying to support you regaining focus and becoming a healthier you. Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

As I'm sure you have read, there will be answers all over the board for this. My surgeon and hospital were "center of excellence" rated as well, but my Dr is prob one of the most strict ones out there and had me on his 3 weeks liquid diet and a long post op liquid stage as well. Good luck and hope all goes well.
