    Never...ever Thought I'd Do It :)

You look great and I think the photos are nice. Congrats on the engagement

Dont Do This But Good To Know.

I didn't have a pre-op diet either. I wish you the best. We all fall short of what we are supposed to do at some point. Just remember that your doctor is telling you based on his experience and being dishonest with your doctor is also Wong dishonest with yourself. I started to eat soft foods a few days ahead of time and stopped losing weight. I realized that was God reminding me that I made a commitment to Him and myself to improve my temple. Don't let anyone discourage you...you will be successful because we all fall down and that doesn't matter as long as we learn from it and get back up! GOOD LUCK

    Shoulder Pain When Eating

It is common...it is my understanding that there is a nerve around your diaphragm that affects your shoulder. Searc for shoulder pain in the post on here and you will get a lot of information.

    No Pre Op Diet??

    I didn't have one

    1 1/2 Weeks Post Op

I am on normal food after two weeks as well. I am sticking to 1200 calories and after a week have gained. I am still down from surgery and realize that my body kicked into starvation mode on the liquids/mushies at 600-800. I am allowing my body to adjust and wait on my fill.

Post Off Day 5 Days So Bloated!

I am three weeks post op and feel about 90% recovered. I felt the change from pain to just being sore around week 2. However the difference each day after the first week was relief in itself. My port incision still feels bruised and unless I hold my belly it is sore when I walk from my belly moving. It truly gets better everyday. I took off four weeks and I believe by week four I will have little to no soreness. A friend of mine told me about an abdominal band that you can get from Walgreens that holds your stomach in place but isn't tight. You can find it near the pharmacy with the leg braces an ace bandages. I would wait until your wounds are healed and the stitches are out but it is a life saver

    Surgery Day

Praying for you. I had my band 8/22 and remember those feelings clearly. I can tell you that you will be very sore and have pain but the pain killers are sufficient to control the pain. Ask for more as soon as you feel pain, don't try to be strong. It will get better within minutes. Once you go home, take your meds on time religiously. Most people only need them for a few days. I used mine for three days. The one thing I wish someone would have told me about was the abdominal band that you can get to keep your stomach from moving around. You can find it at Walgreens

    Second Guessing My Decision....normal?

You are making the right decision! I am 19 days post op. I have not had great successes yet but just knowing I now have a tool gives me confidence that I can do this. I had quite a bit of soreness and still have some. Pain sounds more intimidating and trust me you will be fine. You will be afraid but the commitment to take care of you will outweigh the discomforts that you will experience for a few weeks
  9. We have the same banded date and I am experiencing the same thing. It truly takes a lot of self control. I lost 10lbs the first week. However since then, each time I changed to a new phase, I gained 2 lbs. I am at 1200 calories per doctors orders. I am eating a well balance meal and satiated for three hours. I have not been discouraged by the weight gain because I assume it is due to my body being confused and being sedentary. I will start working out tomorrow so that should help restart my loss. I was scheduled to get my fill on 9/20 but they said call if I felt I needed one earlier so I am going to call tomorrow. Be patient with yourself. We will both lose the weight because we are committed

    Seminar Tomorrow

If you have a good surgeon they will ensure that they test for things like sleep apnea. Don't get discouraged. Go through the process and let the doctor guide you.

    I Made It!

Thank you both. I am onto regular food and using MyFitness Plan to track my food.

    I Made It!

8/22 banded...today is my last day of mushies. I am on to soft foods. I have not been up to grocery shopping and lifting the bags so I ordered PeaPod. I need to be sure I have healthy food ready so I am not tempted to eat unhealthy. I don't believe I have much, if any restriction, so I have to be very careful.

    Commitment

WLS can't make you happy. Being happy is a state of mind not a size. Figure out what is making you unhappy and address that issue. If you are ready to be healthier the go for WLS

    Does Fhis Look Infected?

    I'm so glad you went!

Port Feels Like It Is Pulling Downwards?!?

Ok. I appreciate the responses. It now feels ok when I first stand up and I can twist and turn with no issues so that's a step in the right direction. However the tug I feel when standing up straight is painful unless I actually hold my top tummy (lol) up a little.
  17. I thought it was just me. I don't even have the desire to eat. I literally forget to eat. I live alone and I'm off work for four weeks. Before the band that would have meant ordering food and lots of snack foods. Now I have to make myself eat. I used to hate drinking water...now I can't get enough. Wow...

    Just Thought I'd Post Pic

    You look awesome

    Does Fhis Look Infected?

Keep in mind if it is an internal infection it may not ooze or feel warm. The incision may be warning you of what's going on inside. Go to an urgent care

    Pain

I am 7 days post op and still have moments that make me almost double over in pain. It is natural because we use our abdomen for everything and it has been through trauma. It gets better though. I only have the pain when I'm up and about a lot. REST REST REST!!!

    Hungry

Find a social service agency that helps people in your predicament. Most cities have a service that allows you to dial 211 and they can direct you to some that can help. Praying for you!
  22. My surgeon said he does it to flush the band to avoid installing a faulty band. He also has some 1500 surgeries and has found very few people who have hit the green zone at 2-3 CCC's which is what they put in. My first fill is at 4 weeks and I'll get taken to 5cc's. They feel on average that it takes between 6-8 to get to green.
  23. YAAAAA! 240 to 230...next goal 220 by 9/30. I know this time is about healing. I also know that there is limited to no restriction in the band. However the band won't keep me from eating less and healthy so I can do this.

    Left Shoulder Pain

I read somewhere that there is a nerve in your abdomen that runs to the left shoulder. I get the pain that you are talking about when I'm hungry and start eating too fast. It feels like a pulled muscle and makes me slow down. Strange huh?
