Shape_Shifter got a reaction from eso in Help Me! 90Lbs In 6Months
Personally, for me, I am eating a lot less than 1200 calories most days and when I do I don't see movement on the scale (just because having a hard time getting in the food, not trying to eat that little). However, on good days when I can get in my Protein and calories that's when I see movement. My understanding is when under 1200 calories my body thinks its starving and tries to hold onto everything it can. Not to mention - absolutely no energy when not feeding it fuel.

OTR - you said it before I could. Us older women definately want a man with stamina...but also a pup you can smack on the nose and tell them go to lay down when we're done. lol
Older men get grey and distinguished. Older women - look like a witch.
Our only saving grace -- eventually those younger women get stuck with grandpa and grandpa gets a middle-aged women with a wandering eye looking for that younger man and using grandpa's $$ to get it. Karma is a b***h! lmao

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from Jld2375 in Sliming Again?
Ok, it happens to most of us at one point or another. You've eaten the wrong thing too early, sudden aversion to certain foods, drinking to soon after meal, eaten 1 bite past full, etc. etc.
Now you're uncomfortable, even miserable, producing slime like a Hag Fish.
What have you found that helps you through this? Any remedies? Reliefs? Anything you found that helps?
Please don't mention keeping a cup handy because the mere thought of that sends me gagging loosing everything else.

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from Territravel in Sliming Again?
With me it has lasted longer at times. I too believe its from too dry foods, not chewed enough, etc. Once I tried to wash it down but that's like flushing a clogged toilet. Dont recommend it

The Vitamin Shoppe. If you don't have one near you, I know they have a website you can order from and the orders are supposed to go out same day and if u spend $25, shipping is free. I've heard GNC sells them too.

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from Threetimesacharm in Day 3 Post Op: My Nurses Got Me In Trouble!
I did not drink any juices pre-op. Just not my thing. However, post-op the best thing I had was apple juice mixed with cranberry. My Dr. never said I couldn't have it. especially since that was the only thing I was keeping down. To him, and me, the most important thing was being hydrated. Sugar counting could wait. I hope you have a smooth recovery.

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from newbie99 in For All Low Bmi's -- How Much Weight Did You Loose In 90 Days?
Is it sad that this is my only real concern...all this time and money and one more failed attempt to loose weight. But I also know it's not going to change on its own. I have spent more than this over the last 17 years trying to loose weight. It's just a lump sump and I'm getting a tool to use.

Shape_Shifter reacted to chad2rad in Reminded Daily
Reminded daily how much this surgery is needed. Cut the grass today and did okay this am, but found myself beat, hurting and short of breath while grocery shopping at Walmart. My endurance is shot. Had to take a break and sit for quite a while.
Went to Plato's Closet with wife and kids and thought maybe in six months or more I can buy something here, too.
So done with life on hold!!!
Preop is Tuesday.
Appreciate u guys.

Shape_Shifter reacted to girlfriday in Concerned About Fast Weight Loss-11 Days Post-Op
oops.....sorry I did not read down far enough. Glad you got something to help. I am 6 weeks post op and have nausea everyday. I take Nexium twice a day and chew tums if I need to. Hopefully the nausea will eventually subside but it got me really depressed. I just decided that I am going to have good days and not so good days. I still don't get all my Protein in and just this week have been doing better with Water as long as it is very cold. I use the Unjury and I really like it and it doesn't make me gag. Hopefully those will work out for you as well. Hang in there and good luck.

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from Raven21 in Concerned About Fast Weight Loss-11 Days Post-Op
Thank you everyone. I have to say i don't get stressed about eating because I'm not hungry. I just know this isn't healthy.
Called my PCP and he prescribed something. I took it and made some cream of broccolli. So far so good. I managed to get all my Water and 15 g of Protein today. I also ordered a couple of unjury packets. Hopefully this combo will start working for me.
BTW - caught my teenager. he had been drinking and I could smell it this morning. My husband thought it was nuts but he just admitted it to me. Maybe I have a future at the airport doing security? Put them search dogs out of busines. lol

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Concerned About Fast Weight Loss-11 Days Post-Op
Long explanation.
I am 11 days post op. I have lost approx. 21 lbs. because I can't stand smells and tastes of almost everything. (215 down to 194)
Broths, Soups - have me leaving room gagging
Protein shakes - takes me all day to gag down one bottle of Atkins with 15 g Protein. I've tried 7 different kinds suggested by other viewers.
Protein powder - again, cant stand. tried 3 kinds. thought about trying Isopure but i don't think i can return that if i can't stomach it.
Water - couldn't stand plain water before. Always used flavorings. Now they are impossible to drink. I'm drinking plain water but it takes me all day for one 16 oz bottle, especially if i'm trying to drink a Protein Drink too.
I think alot of this is due to hormones because this is the same problem I had when pregnant with both children. sick for 6 months due to smells and taste. lost alot of weight until something clicked at 6 months (literally a size 3 at 6 months with first child and hospitalized with 2nd)
I am surviving on apple juice (ironically didn't like before), very little gatorade/vitamin water (same effect as flavored waters) and very little Jello. Tried a little scrambled egg and pureed chicken. Ok at first then, hours later, revolt.
I am very tired.
I do not want to loose weight this fast and this way.
I know I'm loosing muscle instead of just fat.
I have no energy for anything, including starting walking.
I can't take chewable Vitamins anymore either.
I am looking for suggestions.
The only plus to this is I am not hungry at all.

Shape_Shifter got a reaction from MoreganK in Scared To Exercise
good to know. that makes me want to exercise. unfortunately with my hours "scheduled" exercise classes are not something I can do. I have a pool but in Maryland by the time I'm able to swim after surgery that will not be an option.
there's a 24hour gym but they always worry me but maybe I just need to do it. i think i will check it out on my day off.

I feel your pain. I"m 8 days post-op and I haven't been able to enjoy anything I use to. Smells make me ill like im pregnant (maybe hormones?).
Can't drink broth. Haven't tried tomatoe Soup. Gatorade sucks. Sweet Tea sucks. Craving salt terrible (sucked the salt off a Cheetos lol).
I saw my favorite chicken salad in the store the other day and wanted it (i don't know how to make it well).
I had 2 Tbl spoons of pureed new england clam chowder and that all today. Mostly drinking diet Ocean Spray laced with white grape juice.
We will get there!!!
