We want the country run by uneducated, ignorant folk...that's what this country needs. Holy Moly. They think I am on a medically supervised weight loss diet ( which I am) My Brother...well, he will probably think I'm nuts. Didn't want to worry my Older boys, and the 4 youngers at home thought I was at a nursing conference. my work thinks I had gall bladder surgery (out years ago). I am a super private person and only need a cheering section of 3. If the others notice my weight loss I will tell them I decided to go on a medically supervised diet, and leave it at that. My journey, my struggle, my business. I like the anonymity of this site, and I have made friends I met in person on my same journey, so that's a plus. Done Did It!

I am 5 days post and i can drink 8 ounces in an hour to an hour and a half, this way I can get my64 ounces of Fluid in daily. I am still on Clear liquids, that may change when I get to full liquids on Thursday. Done Did It!

Just got on the scale. 215. Down fro 222 on surgery day 10/3. Waiting on a stall. Luckily, I expect it, thanks to the info I get on this board.

I want to limit carbs to 20 a day. Worked for me before and now I have sleevie to keep me on that track

How many carbs in the flavored ones? I buy plain and flavor with sugar free syrups (pre-op) hope to continue post op. Done Did It!

What is so different? I would read posts as a pre op, seeing sleevers complaining of not being able to swallow Water, getting fluids stuck, pain and dehydration. I was surprised that right after my leak test I was drinking 3-4 oz of water, then finishing my broth, eating my sorbet and drinking water...and not over an hour either. Is it bougie size. I know I have read "size really doesn't matter" but I wonder. i was sleeved with a 40 fr , stapled right close to the bougie, because the surgeon felt this gave him the least complications and food intolerances. Done Did It!

Oct 3 sleeved too. I am the same! food is appealing but I am not hungry. I am on clears and can drink 4 to 6 ounces without any issues. They say restriction only happens after you start regular food. Done Did It!

As a yankee doodle patriotic Federal employee of the VA system AND Native American/Latina, I Find the comments made about Mexican and hispanics hateful and ignorant. I have the luxury of good insurance and had my sleeve done at a US hospital in CT. i was treated like a queen. my surgeon a well respected Gold Coast CT surgeon said that the Mexican wls surgeons were all capable and competent. I wish the OP a speedy recovery and great success. Done Did It!

TMI alert I am day 4 post op and did not not realize I would have completely liquid BMs. As a result, i woke up this morning with messy PJ bottoms OMG Just Do It!!!

Depends on your surgeon and country standards, i guess. Here in the north east usual stay is 2 nights. IMy surgeon would have let me go next day, but I opted to stay (kids at home). Good thing, i felt like doodoo on day 2. When the pay saw I felt she offered. Third night, but i decided to go home. Also depends on your insurance. I have not heard of any US hospitals doing it as outpatient. Where are you? My sugeon released me to go back to work in 12 days if I feel up to it. Given how I feel better daily, i think that is more than reasonable. Again it isup to the imdividual and their surgeon

When will the loud stomach sounds go away? I am on day 4 post op and it sounds like I have one of those alien things about to pop out of my abdominal wall.

The whole first half of my post i brought my robe (essential) my iphone, ipad and charger. Chapstick and biotene, . Hospital provided soap lotion, wipes, comb,slipper socks, toothbrush and paste, i brought a heating pad, but didn't really need it. Just Do It!!!
