I am one week post op today. Hardest week because I am on isopuke and Clear Liquids. I am not really hungry, though my tummy does grumble a lot. When I see my family eating, I wish I could taste a bite...but I will soon enough. if you look forward to being able to eat regular food, in lesser amounts and at the weightloss and healthy body you will have, you should be able to stave off depression. Depression is a real medical condition and some folks are just more prone to it, through no fault of their own. If you feel depressed for more than a week, tell your doctor. Don't suffer in silence, there is no need. As an RN, I believe in better living through modern chemistry (and herbal medicine, when appropriate) I also believe that love and faith will help you get through most things. Good luck! Uggh. Not fun. At least I'm not alone (not to say I want you to have it, LOL) At least I am not the oddball. Done Did It!

Pre pre op diet+preop diet+ 10 pounds post op Hope I dont hit a big stall, but prepared if I do

Doing really well. No pain, drinking no problem, still on clears. Just tired and winded when I overdo it.

Day 3 of my 12 day diet. Optifast shake x5 for 10 days and clears for 2. I want to chew on my own arm.

A rare steak Done Did It!

Got flooded with ABX at the hospital, none at home. Cant do yogurt yet, I will do the old monistat thing until I see the doc on Thurs Done Did It!

I had Roxycet first, which made me super dizzy, they changed that to toradol, which was fantastic, but because it is an IV NSAiD they would not let me have anymore at home. They sent me home with Dilaudid 2 mg, I took one at 5 am when my tummy started to scream, for 2 mornings. No more pain Done Did It!

Their are a multitude of narcotics without tylenol for pain. I know, I hate narcotics too, but I hate pain more. They will not leave you to your pain, don't worry. Done Did It!

I have been mulling this over since day 1 post op, and I am absolutely befuddled. Tell me what you think Day of surgery, I got there, was put in one of those Bair paws warmer gowns and left in a little room by myself (husband had to get the kids on the bus after dropping me off) nurse came in and out, super nice and attentive. Anesthesia came in with 2 IVs, didn't hook up right away. Waited some more. Got weighed, back in bed. Surgeon and anesthesia and OR Nurses came in to talk, last consents, Iv started... Then NOTHING, until recovery. I have had several surgeries before and I ALWAyS remember being wheeled into the OR, transferring to that table, IV, count backwards and fade to black. This has always been the spot I start to panic with the overhead lights,the people in masks, the clinking of the instruments. I DONT REMEMBER ANY OF IT. It's kind of making me a little crazy, missing that whole piece. Is it possible anesthesia gave me some twilight before being wheeled out to the OR because I did warn them of my Panic. Should I ask my surgeon, or let it go. Was it so scarey to me that I have just tucked it out of my consciousness. I am normally a very sane, down to Earth, realistic kind of person, so this is very odd for me. Done Did It!

I have yet found a compression garment that actually compresses. Nothing can draw back these thunder thighs and booty Done Did It!
