I am having a hard time with mushies. I have been a fast eater since having kids. I cant seem to slow down, then I get the horrible chest pain and alime balls yuck. I cant seem to get enough proteim without going over calories. Kind o stumped. Some days I cant eat enough, other days everything I eat hurts. Ugh -

Me too chica i was stalled for 8 days, now down 3 more. I am not going to worry about it. i am ok until about 2 oclock, then I just want to take a nap. Luckily, I am home from work by 2. My biggest worry is how much I can eat of mushies. I at like 6 oz of tuna salad puree yesterday, freaked me out. Done Did It! -
I don't understand how it is I ate 6 ounces of the tuna salad (starkist) in the pouch. It filled me up, but didn't get sick or have pain. I lost track and kept eating. This worries me. Now I don't want to eat the rest of the night, even though it was only 200 calories., and I only had a 90 calorie Protein shake this morning. Anyone else able to eat that much? Done Did It!

Hi guys, been kind of quiet. Things are ok. Started mushies this week. First time I ate too fast, had awful belly pain,, so it is a learning curve, eating slow, tiny bites, chew, chew chew. I was pretty upset, I was stalled a week out for 8 days. scale went down 2 pounds today. Down 13 pounds since 10/3. Seems a lot slower than others...yeah, I l know, we all lose at our own pace...but still, I wish it would be more. Anyways, congrats to all my octosleevers!!! I am proud of all of us. Done Did It! -
I Am in the process of completing my insurance requirements and although I dont have a date,my patient advocate stated probably mid october. I wish it were sooner. Waiting is killing me!

I hought I would try gerbers graduate meat stick, i used to eat them only 110 calories and 10 g of protein. A jar has 2 1/2 oz. i ate about 5 of the 6 sticks and it was TOO much. I had not felt restriction until now. Not pleasant. Will eat MUCH slower next time

Prednisone delays healing because it suppresses immune system that helps inflamatory process needed to kick start healing. It won't absolutely stop your surgery. It's really up to the surgeon. Did they figure out what the rash from? I'll be praying for a good outcome. -

I got what most call an abdominal binder in the hospital. And used it 3 days. I am 11 days out drinking fluids withiut restriction, at least 64 oz. protein puddings, broths, shakes, and clear liquids. I got really hungry when I was making sandwiches for my girls. I couldn't resist and had an ounce of cheese. Chewed it to liquid, it went down fine. I an kind of scared i wont have much restriction when I move to real food. -
Basic has much less out of pocket than standard, provided your provider and hospital are on their preferred list. Ex. Hospital stay is 150 a night. (2 nights=300) surgeon is 150 per surgeon, usually 1. That's it. Pre op costs are 35 per surgeon visit, 25 pcp, 25 for psych. nUT visits are not covered. I think with standard you pay 15% of surgeons fee (15000 to 20000) + hospital stay. Done Did It!

Oh I have tried these. i ate 3 bags over a period of time. They smell like fish and are tasteless, so I added sauces etc. it was bah, but the big problem was: towards the end of the third bag i started getting excruciating belly pain after eating. i kept thinking int was a fluke, so I ordered another bag. The pain was worse evrytime I ate them. i had to throw out the rest, as just looking at them made me nauseous. This may have been an individual reaction, just thought I'd let you know. Oh and they are very difficult to digest, stays in your belly forever. Done Did It!

So i have been cleaning and painting and hope to start the gym next week. 9 days out. 13 pounds since op day, 33 down from highest weight -

I do drink that much. Sip sip sip for 15-20 minutes. Then I put it down and usually wait a couple of hours before taking more fluids. Done Did It!
