What Do You Want To Do When You Are Healthier?

Speaking of mirrors. I would like to go in a store's dressing room, look in the mirror and think...oh my god is that me or is this a funhouse mirror? -
Waiting is the worst. Have to complete my third nut appt and wait for the advocate to file in early to mis september. Spending my time having food funerals for all the bad things that I love to eat, and will hopefully never eat again.

Submitted To Insurance...low Bmi

Also my bariatric group has a patient advocate that checked with insurance before I even had my first consult with the surgeon. She will be putting the packet together for submission once my third Nut visit is complete. They rarely get denials once they have prechecked. Do you gave a patient advocate at your bariatric surgeons office? -

I am 5'7" weighing about 233 with a BMI of 36. I was recently diagnosed with hypertension about. 3 months ago which brought me to the decision to have wls. I have federal bCBS amd worry I will be denied. I have since had my psych eval which went fine, my first of 3 NUT visits and a letter of medical necessity from my primary physician. I failed my upper GI endoscopy with H Pylori and gastritis. I am to take 2 strong antibiotics and Prevacid for 2 weeks which have given me metal taste in my mouth. I actually afraid of losing weight because of this. I am to have a h pylori breath. Test. 2 weeks after finishing my antibiotic. I live in fear that rules will change or i get denied because my hypertension is "new". I will be done by sept 6 with all my requirements and hope ther is no problem. -
I know i will miss diet Pepsi I am definitely addicted.

Not all Indians have this benefit or have casino dividends. I doubt they would anyway. -
I too try to eat everything in Sight, but i have a different reason. I am at the low end of the BMI with comorbidity at 36. I have hypertension, and arthritis. I have to stay above 35 bmi to get the final approval. I had my upper GI endoscopy last week and found to have gastritis and H Pylori. I was put on powerful antibiotics and prevacid and now all I taste is metal. So although I am currently on vacation in Cape Cod, I am not eating much and swimming all day. I think I will probably have my "food funerals" ( love that term) when i get over this thing. I have 2 more nut visits to go the 14 day preop to shrink my liver.

Lets Compair Our Packing List

I have had previous major abdominal surgeries. Pajamas sound nice, but the reality is the hospital gown was most practical and comfortable, in and out of bed. Bring a robe if the hospital doesn't have them. It's just a day or two, wouldn't invest in too much on new stuff. When you get home, super stretchy jersey pants and oversized tee will be most comfy until you start getting out of the house. I would definitely aske the surgeon about an abdominal binder. It supports and protects, when you start going out. -

For the surgery itself I will have to pay about 500 dollars out of pocket. 150 for the surgeon and 150 a day for inpatient stay of 2 days...plus medication co pays. I also had to pay for 3 Nut visits at 330, pre-op optifast at 220.00. Still i feel really lucky, that's all I have to pay. And I have federal employee insurance! -
Am currently going through my pre-op requirements and plan to be sleeved by Fairfield Bariatrics, Dr Craig Floch. Are there any other CT folks out there getting sleeved?

Hoping for a september date. I had to have 3 nut visits for my federal BCBS, and ended up having gastritis and H Pylori when they did my upper endoscopy. Now on 2 weeks of heavy duty antibiotics and prevacid. Mouth tastes like metal as a result, eating less. Worried because I am just over the minimum BMI plus co morbidity (hypertension). Anyway, my hope is after my sept 6 Nut visit, my insurance turn around is quick (as I have been told by others , can be) go on my 2 week pre-op diet to "shrink my liver" and get done at the very end of Sept or early october. i don't plan to be that Svelt for xmas, but at least I will be eating healthier and maybe moving into underland.

I started my journey a bit ago, but had my first consult on June 28. I was given a list of requirements for appointments, endoscopies, EKGs, lab work, which I arranged all for last week and this week. Saw the Nutrionist, the psychologist, my PcP sent his letter, had my labs, ekg and will have my Upeer Gi on Thursday. i thought I was done. Nope, I have to have 3 months of supervised diet. I am so mad I could cry. i was so excited to think I would have a sleeve by laborday, now It may not be until Oct. I am the tupe, when I want something, I hone in and get the job done, to make it so. Now I have to sit and wait. Anyone else?
