I guess this is why I have opted to tell no one except my husband, my 19 year old daughter and my closest friend. I am doing it because I do want to look good again. Tired of: being tired, pain, slow, frumpy, dumpy and depressed. I am doing this for me, and me alone. I figure as a 50 something, i have less time to possibly gain the weight back! Justine, i am so with you. I have granny panties look like sails, mom jeans, oversized shirts. I wear maxi dresses and I look like I am wearing hawaiin mumus. I have 2 pair of 18 talbots kakis (talbots runs really big, BTW) and stretchy shirts I wear to work almost everyday, because nothing else fits right. I cant remember last time I dressed up.

:-x staying quiet on the recent Chick Fil A controversy. I think if there is any chance at a convenience store, supermarket, bodega, vegetable market, you can find greek yogurt, cheese stick, muscle milk, even gerber graduates meat sticks..has to be better than any fast food.

Fyi, i was told by my nutritionist not to take viactiv or any calcium gluconate. The only good calcium is Calcium citrate.

If you are self pay, I guess it's up to your surgeon. For insurance, it usually has to be at LEAST 35 with at LEAST one comorbidity (HTN, Diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol) or 40 with no comorbidity.

It's true. Many surgeons have very poor bedside manner. They may be amazing with a scalpel, but terrible at human relationships, which is why they l,ike their patient's asleep. Believe me, as an RN of 33 years, I have seen and delt with a lot of surgeons. NOT ALL are like this, but certainly, many are. Take what he/she said with a grain of salt and chalk up their insensistivity, to their own social awkwardness. The incisions with likely hurt to some degree, but how many of us actually know what being stabbed 5 times feels like?
