Ok I Hear All Kinds Of Stuff About Constipation But What About The Opposite?
NDN_RN replied to Scully68's topic in The Gals' Room
shakes high in sucralose or sugar acids can cause terrible gas and diarrhea. I know Atkins does that to me, the bars and shakes. Everyone is different, but this may be a culprit. -

Definitely increased fluids help flush out the infection. Vitamin c to acidify your urine as well as any prescription you were given. I have seen many post sleevers had a urinary catheter post op. whenever a catheter is introduced, there is always a posibility of infection. NOT ALWAYS, but occassionally. Feel better, UTIs can be miserable.

What Does Slider Food Mean?
NDN_RN replied to jennrus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always thought of the term slider food to be things like ice cream, shakes, puddings,chips...things that breakdown and empty out from the stomach quickly, leaving room for more and more. Obviously, because the sleeve is not a malabsorptive procedure, all those calories will be absorbed. Sliders=poor food choice. That's what I have gleened trolling the threads, but I am no expert! -
Waiting For Approval What Do You Think Of My Chance?
NDN_RN replied to ashley624's topic in Insurance & Financing
Did you ask the insurance company what they consider "comorbidities"? My insurance only accepts hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disese, sleep apnea. They don't consider asthma, arthritis or a lot of the other lovely problems caused by obesity -

NDN_RN replied to MamaMelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read the link, thanks butterbean. I was particularly interested in the fat calorie shock. Having been successful om the original high fat atlins diet for 2 years, i believe this is definitely a Way to shake up your metabolism and fat burning. Imho. -

There are so many different responses to this question. In the end it's all about your comfort level. Tell who you feel comfortable with, and the rest, maybe after surgery, you feel differntly and tell them at that point. I would suggest tell at least one preson closest to you. I have told my DH, my best friend and one of my kids, my 19 year old daughter. My mother is judgemental and opinionated, my father does what ever my mom tells him to do, and my kids wouldnt understand why. I work from home, go into my office monthly, so telling co workers isn't even necessary.
