Looking For Momma Sleevers Who Have Young Children
NDN_RN replied to toya7876's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Older mom here of 9 yes 9 kids. 5 are either working, in college or grad school. 4 at home ages 5, 7, 10 ( special needs), and 13. I have my husband and best criend going to help me out. I am a fussy hoisekeeper and extremely organized and regimented, so it should be interesting to let the house and kids go for a few days. My 10 year old is pre-diabetic and overweight due to medications for her mental health disabilities, so a change in our diets would be good all around. fot my skinny 13 year old boy, and my littlest girls, I can give them extra carbs and fats. My hubby can use to lose a few, so I think it will work. -
Originally from BK. Park Slope. Red Charm. Going to Methodist?

51 And Conflicted Between The Band And The Sleeve- Your Thoughts Wanted!
NDN_RN replied to buplee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I chose to be sleeved, hopefully in the next month, because i have heard more bad about the band than good. Too much maintenance, fills, slips erosion, slow weight loss, infections. It just seems too much mechanical maintenance. No wonder there is such a fail rate, your too busy worrying about the band, you don't have time to focus on diet and healthy habits. Just mho -
Good luck and God bless

Is Sleeve Success Possible Without Exercise?
NDN_RN replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMg thank you for this post! I am going for the sleeve next month, but have not exercised in a couple of years, at least. i have bad kneed, ankle arthritis, from years of running, severe plantar faciitis. i know I will start out slow, and its necessary to keep from having hanging flab, but other posts had me worried...an hour a day 6 days a week? I have 4 kids and a full time job, that's almost impossible -
And that is only if your BMI is under 40
