I have just pre registered at my hospital and paid my insurance co pay of 250.00 the rest is 100% covered. I have lost 18 pounds in the last 16 days. It's getting real folks. My life is about to change in one week

I would talk to my PCP first about wls. They can get the clinics casemanager to find out. I would also go see the benefts coordinator to see if fee would apply given you are covered by another insurer, even if they don't cover wls. Move is a requirement, probably cardiology, endocrine and gen surgery consults too, but i guess it depends on the surgeon and pcp

Va Fee is money paid by the VA to tother hospitas ot health care providers to perform services not done at the VA. In order to be eligible, va must be your sole health insurer

I am a VA RN at the CT VA. I have 2 patients I follow who had both bipass and pannulectormy. Not sure about the sleeve. They weee done at their partner Hospital Yale New haven hospital. Paid though the VA fee program

Day 5 and I have lost 10 pounds!!! 17pounds in 2 weeks!! Crazy!!! Still want to chew my arm off though.

Have you checked if they have wifi at the hospital. Many have guest wifi fo pt and visitors.

Before my pre-op diet I thought to have Olive Garden, but then I thought, I'll have it again...without the bread. So I had something I know I won't have for a long time. I cooked up Puerto Rican Arroz con Gandules (yellow rice and pigeon peas) and pan fried steak and onions. Yuuummmm. Now back to day for of Protein shakes. Arrrggghh Just Do It!!!

I am having my surgery done in the US at a well regarded hospital. I am lucky, I have insurance, otherwise, I wouldn't even be able to afford a Mx surgery.My surgeon said the surgeons in Mexico are competent and the facilities are adequate. What did concern him was the lack of follow up. He found a lot of non US wls pt were trying to follow up with his group, which really bogged the schedule down, so they limit it to emergency complications. how do you Follow up, if you had surgery in Mexico. just curious. Just Do It!!!

I wonder if there is a corrolation between having a pre-op Diet or not and the incidence of complications. Seems preop diets are entirely a surgeons preference.
