The greatest. I'll be using this as motivation to keep going!

Was just looking at old pics with my daughter and saw a pic of the old me. Funny thing was I didn't recognize myself right away. Has that happened to anyone else?

Never fainted, but did find myself taking a fall on the front staires after a dizzy spell. The only thing hurt was my pride, thankfully. Life now is such a balancing act. Keep drinking!

I know that the liquid for 2 weeks is hard. My doctor allowed me to mix fruit in my protein shake. I would mix the protein with nonfat milk, fruit, and some ice cubes. It wasn't a steak, but tolerable. Check out your local GNC or just get some whey protein from a local store. A lot of us have been where you are now. Some of us doubted if we could do it. Just take it one day at a time and it will be over pretty quick.

Welcome. I am fairly new myself. You're right, there is a lot of great info and support here. I am always learning something new. Read as much as you can and take what you need from it. Dn't be afraid to ask or offer info. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to get the app tonight.

Help...i Am Gaining Weight! Need To Get Back On Track
barbie64 replied to citygirl4616's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I understand your frustration. Reached my goal weight last year, had a slip with eventual band removal. 45 pounds later I was re-banded. It has been a little diferent than I remember. I am trying to be more mindful of what I eat, and exercising. The exercise was something thatt I did very little of last time. I am trying to use a food diary to keep track of my food intake on My fitness pal. It has been slow going, but it is a start. Don't get dscouraged. Take one meal at a time. -
Addicted To Food & Big Portions
barbie64 replied to JJ&E's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The band will take away the large portions. If you try to continue them you'll end up stuck or throwing up. The addiction is something to work on. I love food and will still fantasize about my favorites. I have just learned to make better choices, and lumit the bad choices to very small portions. Remember, we needed the band because we have made some bad choices at times. I have discovered that exercising can take my mind off food at times. Tonight after some chinese food I was feeling pretty guilty, but got up out of bed and walked a couple of miles. This doesn't make up for the chinese, but does make me feel a little more in control. -
Insurance And Reconstrutive Surgery
barbie64 replied to jennifer1's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I was told that my insurance excluded brachio. Would not be covered for any reason. I'm hopeful of a breast lift, but don't think I'm blessed with enough bust to require a reduction which may be a requirement. -
One thing that might be a problem is the few bites. Sometimes it is easy to take in a lot without realizing it. I tended to sneak abite here and there. When I added it up it was a lot more than I thought. Take it a day at a time.

Insurance And Reconstrutive Surgery
barbie64 replied to jennifer1's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My insurance paid for a panni. Today I saw the plastic surgeon and they won't pay for brachio. I kind of knew this already. The others are right, the ps will find out what is covered easily. Documentation of any rashes is very important. -
Post Op Abdominoplasty, Back Lift And Brachioplasty
barbie64 replied to dianec's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Started running on the straight aways(if you can call it that, more like a shuffle) and walking the turns. This is advice I got from one of the trainers at the track. I know that I'll eventually run the whole thing. As long as I keep going it's progress. Made it there 5 days this week. My kids are tired of going and now taking turns with me. -
Any Massachusetts Banders

It's great to connect with everyone online, but it's great to know that there are some members close to home. Do any of you in the Spfld area belong to a support group? -
Misty, I hear you. My arms are the things I hate the most. I go for a consult with a plastic surgeon Monday about brachioplasty. Hopefully the price won't be too outrageous.
