    New Orleans

Dr. Mando is in Kenner and he charges 150.00 for a fill. I feel like he knows what he is doing. A few months ago, I panicked thought I had a slip but he treated me with meication and evrything has been fine.
  6. My top amount was 2.25 but I really was not able to eat real food and basically to my goal so had .25 taken out last week and what a difference!! but, I need to really start paying attention now to maintain or ven lose 5 pounds more.
  7. I am 5'0 tall and weighed @165 when I had my band. I had to pay for it and I went to Mexico, it is the best thing I could have done. It has been 9 months and I weigh @ 129. Like you, I tried and tried to lose weight but just could not and so rather than wait until I gained "enough" to qualify in the us. i made the decision to get the band. I have not regretted it once. I went to Dr Ortiz

    People can be so mean!

probably because you know where you "came from", you KNOW you are looking good and you are feeling good and i think it hurts a lot more to get knocked down from a higher place. and what freaking jerks,(i am putting it mildly) yes, i can see how fantasizing kicking their asses, humiliating them would speed up the treadmill, so they can't hurt you at all.........

I have had reflux for about 5 days, it woke me up 2 nights so i went to dr today and he took .25 out and wrote me a prescription for reglan and protonics. he doesn't think my band slipped but i do, i have had it 7 months and these symptoms are new, i can't really keep anything down, what do you guys think
  12. I was very lucky, I had surgery in mexico but a dr in new orleans only charges 180.00 a fill, no other costs. there are a lot of doctors in this area that take pts from mexican surgeons
  13. I went to Dr Ortiz. I would do it all over again, no problems at all.
  14. The surgery, the trip, all of it was easy..... the hardest part is the liquid diet after surery. The pain was in my shoulder and where the port is but I went back to work in less than a week.
  15. I had my surgery by Dr Ortiz on Feb 27 and there were no problems at all. And there haven't been either. I would not hesitate to do it again.

Need fill - this is depressing!

I got my first fill @3 weeks ago, I do not feel any restriction and want to go back tomorrow. is that stupid or should i wait a week? i need advice because patience is not my strongest quality but I really want to start using my band the right way. Advice anyone?????????thanks, nancyotr
  18. Is the port directly under the incision ? I can feel a lump under it but I also eel one about an inch to the left. I had surgery on 2/27. Thanks, Nancy
  19. My experience on 2/27/07 was not at all bad. I did not have any nausea, no tubes in nose and I was walking an hour after surgery. Post op pain is there but not bad. A few days after surery, I got the left shoulder/neck gas pains which were the worst of the entire procedure. But I still went back to work 4 days post op
  20. I had surgery on 2/27. I, too, have a history of mrsa infections over the past 3 years. My infectious disease dr instructed me in some preventative measures... one is that I use Hibiclens when I shower. Since starting that, I have not had an infection (6 months). But, my question is do I need to worry about future infections from the band. My surgery had no complications but am I at risk for mrsa internally? Thanks for your help, Nancy
  21. I had my surgery on 02/27, I went back to work 5 days later and today (day8) I do not have any shoulder pain and only a little port pain. I am really sick of full liquid diet...does everyone feel that way??
  22. my surgery was on feb. 27 with Dr.Ortiz......... these post op days are rough as far as diet goes
