cannot gulp down drink in the summer?

I can down half a bottle of water in one shot. I've always chugged. Hard habit to break. I'm almost 6 mos post op. It doesn't give me any discomfort at all.

Can I See Meals/portion Sizes Please?

Most mornings I eat a 2 egg omelette with a slice of Velveeta cheese. That's it. Or 2 hard boiled eggs. Supper is a medium boneless skinless chick breast and 1/2 cup green beans.

    sweet tooth

Yes I do get a sweet tooth. I was sleeved June 14. My surgeon said to eat a piece of dark chocolate. At least 70% dark. He suggested Trader Joes 100 calorie bars. And boy is it good. Just let it melt on your tongue. He likes the anti-oxidant properties also. I just like the flavor.
  4. Don't sweat the food mourning. It's only temporary. Get past the puréed and mushys and then on to soft. I was sleeved on 6-14-12 and am down 80lbs. I eat anything I want and nothing bothers me. I can eat an entire can of tuna in one sitting. Or a small sirloin steak fillet and a small serving of green beans. Thanksgiving I ate 2 small slices of turkey, mabye half cup of green bean casserole, a tiny pile of mashed potatoes, I slice of cranberry jelly and I was stuffed. So you won't miss what you can't eat anyway. As far as water, I can drink almost half a bottle (16.9oz) in one big drink and not feel uncomfortable. It's a slider food for me. It slides on through and pretty soon, I'm thirsty again. It gets much better in the next few months, I promise. Stay the course.
  5. I am 3 months post op and am curious as to how much other people can eat at one time. For instance, I can eat an entire 5 oz. can of tuna no problem. On some of the online stuff I look up, it seems other people can eat only tiny amounts of food. I'm also reading conflicting articles on how hard it is to stretch a sleeve. Some say easy to do, others say very tough to do. I am pretty full after a can of tuna or sardines but still have room for a celery stick with laughing cow filling. What are your food intake limits and how far removed from surgery are you? Thanks in advance.
  6. It will get better. Trust me. I had surgery on 6/14 and u had terrible buyers remorse for at least 3 weeks. I couldn't beleive I did this awful thing to myself. I had NO energy and felt awful. But as you progress and transition to different stages of food, your energy and mood will improve dramatically. Just hang in there. I'm down 69 pounds in 3.5 months, so it was definitely the right decision.

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

I was sleeved June 14, and am down 55 lbs. I've been on regular food now for approx. 3 weeks and can eat anything. The sleeve is well behaved. I had 2oz of sirloin steak with mushroom Marsala and a few green beans. That is representative of a typical supper. I never get enough protein but take my vitamins and drink lots of water and walk alot at work. Good luck to all!
  8. New poster to the site here. 3 weeks out and kinda freaking out because I'm not hungry at ALL and the thought of eating anything makes me feel physically ill. I'm not getting anywhere near the required protein, and have zero energy. I'm a little worried and wondering if any other sleevers out there are familiar with this?
  9. I posted this in the wrong thread earlier I think. I'm 3 weeks out and am never hungry, in fact , the thought of food makes feel sick and nauseous. A little freaked out because for 44 years I was a big eater! I'm not getting nearly enough Protein and feel very weak and run down . It's worrisome to me. Any other sleevers experience this? And is it common? Any info is appreciated in advance.

    Not Hungry Ever?!

Thanks everyone for your insight and advice. It's good to know that others have the same issues and they work themselves out over time. Good luck to all and thanks again.
