Hi Brissie I was banded by Dr Nicholson at Sunnybank in October 2003 and I've lost 35kgs. There is a couple of support groups in Brisbane. There is a small one for Dr Nicholsons patients and another general Brisbane one. They both operate on Yahoo. The Brisbane one is having lunch this Saturday the 16th April at the Newnham Hotel at 12.OO. You would be most welcome. I can't make this one unfortunately. If you'd like more info you can email me at janeen@orrsome.com I'm at Carindale. Janeen

Hi Alexandra, How about making some home made "playdoh". It can be a cooking activity without the calories. You can make lots of different colors and the kids can mold, cut and roll for hours and it keeps for weeks. I'm sure you'd find a recipe on the internet. Have fun Janeen

Hi Sultana, I had the lapband on 21 October 2003 and since the first mouthful of liquid have had burping and gurgling. My surgeon doesn't know what caused it but hopes it will settle over time. I didn't have it before. But it doesn't seem to effect me otherwise. It can be a little embarrassing when eating around others. But they are quite lady like little burps not big belches and most people don't even notice. Just keeping sipping slowly and try not to swallow more air. Keep up the good work Janeen
