It's never happened to me also. I thought that happened more in the bypass surgery?! Sugar has not bothered me and I am three months out.
-
You are still pretty early to be thinking this is how it will be. You still have to advance thru all your stages of diet. Relax. After you are on solids for awhile it will not be this way. You will be able to eat more substantial proteins that keep you full longer. The more carbs you eat the sooner you get hungry. Some days I do get a little hungry before meal time but not too ofter. Don't judge the success of your surgery at this early in the game. Good luck!!

I am three months out and have not had any carbonation.....doesn't bother me at all to not have it. I have had alcohol a few times....wine, cosmo, margarita. My tolerance is much lower but when I have to enter the calories into "myfitnesspal.com" it is not worth it.

I am also on my first real stall. I dropped past the 200 mark which is usually where I have stalled in past diet attempts but have been hovering right above the 190 mark for two and a half weeks now....argh....

calories and carbs 7 months out?
cbd replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was never told to count carbs....just watch calories, fat and mainly protein. I am three months out. I stick between 600-800 calories a day and they want me to get in 60-80 of protein a day. I usually only get in about 50 though -
Whats the hardest part for you?!
cbd replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The hardest thing for me has been eating slow enough and head hunger. Before I went back to work it was easy but now that I am back on a regular schedule it is difficult. I have to watch a clock to pace myself and it is a constant struggle. Also...head hunger has been an issue for me. I am not hungry...I do eat three meals a day but the snacking in between has been a struggle for me too. Good luck! -

cbd replied to Bellanthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I am a hospital nurse. Work on my feet most days with only 15 min break in morning and afternoon and 30 min. lunch break. I took four weeks off and felt ready to work. The first few weeks post op I would get tired easily and it takes that long to get used to your new way of eating. I think I could of gone back at three weeks because that is when my energy level started to get back to normal. Good luck! -

How do you deal with sabotage and negativity from others?
cbd replied to DecoGirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a nurse and always a patient advocate. Definitely find a different doctor. I tell my patients that hiring a doctor is just like hiring a plumber or carpenter....you are paying them for a service and if you are not happy with the service provided you look elsewhere. I disagree with her comments. Find yourself a supportive doctor who will be helpful in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.....not a hindrance. -

No but good luck and congrats. I am sure both your OB and surgeon will take good care of you and make sure are getting all the nutrition you need. -
I don't see why. Coffee if zero calories and if you are drinking decaf it is even better for youl

Hi....I just wanted to share. I went shopping yesterday and for the first time in YEARS, I was able to walk into most any store and try things on and......shop! For a long time now I have gone with friends and family shopping and found it pretty boring or I would just be helping them pick things out....reason??? Nothing would fit me in the stores that they shopped in. This may turn me into a shopping monster....it was soooooo much fun! I now have a few pairs of pants from Ann Taylor and a few tops from The Loft. Just had to share this exciting new adventure.....thanks for listening.

I think a total fluid intake of 64 oz is good. Also...I keep calories between 600-800 usually getting around 700 a day. This to will pass....keep up the great work. -

Something horrible happened last night...
cbd replied to bee13's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
So sorry for your dilemma. I also am a real person....not a madeup story. I had my surgery done in Peoria, IL and my insurance covered it but as we all know not everyone qualifies for insurance coverage and those people usually go to Mexico. Good luck to you....I am sure this is difficult for you after all the research, planning and anticipation that goes into this decision. -
Try a bigger variety of liquids....isopure zero is a cl liquid protein drink with 40 gm of protein per 16 oz. There are also some protein soups out there. Mix it up with jello, popsicles. Keep strong!!
-
Don't worry about it . I am a daily weigher too...can't help myself. With only 500 cal a day make sure you are getting plenty of fluid and protein in ......anytime I seem to stall I go back to the basic and make sure I am getting those two things in. Stay strong....it will come down.

I completely understand. I was sleeved 1/10/13. I work in a hospital as a nurse so I kept thinking about the same things as you....anesthesia, foley, not waking up, screwing up my wonderful life just cause I can't lose on my own...etc, etc, etc. Well......everything went fine. I did fine with anesthesia, I don't remember the catheter (I was out when it went in and came out), and I did wake up and I did not screw up my wonderful life. I kept thinking....are things really that bad that I need surgery? I knew I was ready for it and really wanted it so I did go ahead and follow thru. I think all these feelings are normal and it would be unwise not to worry about surgery....it should always be thought out and respected. Good luck. Let us all know how things go.

Congrats!! I was sleeved on the 10th of January. My wt was 231 and as of today I am 191....40#....I also can't beleive it. I'm with you as far as the clothes. It will be fun buying spring clothes. My son is gettimg married June 1st and I am trying to put off buying a dress for as long as possible. Love my sleeve!

I am two months out and drink coffee everyday. I buy the Starbucks decaf K cups....tastes wonderful and still no caffeine.
-
I am sorry to hear about your health problems. Yea to you though for reaching your goal. You might of had a few of these issues even if you had not lost weight and I imagine it would of been even harder to deal with at a heavier weight. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading part 2.

Wonderful story...thanks for sharing. I am a little over two months out from surgery and just wondering....does the wt loss slow down significantly after 6 months?
-
Hi...I was a January 10th sleeve. You are doing awesome. My surgery weight was 231 and I am now 195. I have not been doing too much regular exercise yet...I know...I need to get on it. I have been doing the tread mill sporadically but have been waiting for the weather to break so I can get walking outside. I have been trying to stay around 700-800 calories a day. I have a hard time getting all of my protein in though. Most days I am closer to 50 a day instead of the 60-70 they recommend.
