Hello! I was told (by TLBC) that coffee without milk is considered a clear liquid and you can add milk during the full fluid stage. I really like the chocolate flavoured Boost Protein formula - tastes like chocolate milk!

Hi Brookelaney, I had my procedure done on a Friday and was back to work on Monday (cushy office job!!) but I wish I had taken the whole week off since I had quite a bit of back and chest pain (which is normal due to the anesthetic and the gas!) Good luck to you - we're here for you!

Good Luck and congratulations! Let us know how you're doing when you feel better.

I'm doing great too - I have progressed from clear fluids to full fluids meaning I can have cream Soup, yoghurt and pudding in small amounts. I thought that I was going to moan with delight on my first taste of creamy soup at lunch! My incisions seem to be healing well and my gas pains (mostly in my back and chest) is getting a bit better too! Heldie

What's the worst thing someone said to you?

Hello - three things come to mind 1.) guy I liked in highschool said he really liked me but did not think he could take all the insults he would get if we were together. 2) Riding my bicycle I heard one kid yell "hey look at the beached whale riding a bike 3.) two co-workers speaking german at the table next to me. They stopped speaking german only long enough for one "workout babe" to say that she did not want to get pregnant because she did not want to get fat, then resumed their conversation in german. There are many many more. People sure can be cruel. -
Hi - I was banded March 9th and I too am experiencing pain in my upper back and below my breast bone. When I feel pain, I try to inhale deeply and exhale slowly sometimes that helps, other times burping helps too. Walking does help a bit. My friend said that heat pads helped her a lot. Heldie

Anyone had luck with insurance covering some/all of surgery?

Good Evening Folks, I was told at our information session when I first visited TLBC that we could deduct the cost of the procedure on our tax returns. I plan on trying it for next year! -
Susansilver - I too have been having problems with communications... I had to call the same person 4 times. I finally had to call someone else to ask if the person I was calling was actually in the office. Thank goodness I have so much confidence in Dr. Joffe or I might not have booked!

My first post! I am having my band "installed" on Friday March 9th. I am going through so many emotions right now that I am not exactly sure what to think or how to feel. I am excited, nervous, scared all at once. I am tremendously encouraged by all of your posts since many of you have expressed the same types of feelings that I have had. Having been overweight most of my life so I don't really know what its to be a thin person. The only thing that I know for sure is despite all of the turmoil, that right now at this moment - I don't regret making this decision and I am looking forward to being thin!
