    3 Months-Pics!

Wooooohooooo! That is so awesome! I'm really happy for you in the dress and your wedding
  3. I am petrified that I can eat too much at 6 weeks out. I asked my NUT and Dr's assistant and they said that everyone's different and I may not have as much swelling as some people I asked about my bougie size and it's 38, but the assistant said that doesn't really matter. I think I am comparing myself to too many people and then watching videos of people that are further out and comparing what I can eat also. I am 5ft 10 so I may have a very long stomach compared to some others. I am just curious. I lost about 12 pounds pre-op and 18 post op.
  4. Liz! I'm so glad to hear your on the up and up! Lots and lots of praying going on here must have helped Along with your determined spirit!!
  5. Liz I have chihuahuas also! 2 of them - moxie and mojo
  6. I was banded in 2008 and lost 70+ pounds. After I had skin removed in 2009 they opened the band for me to get nutrients and its never been the same. I gained it back. Looking back I realized I lost because I couldn't eat and would throw up or get stuck. I moved to slider foods and gained and also because I never got a sweet spot. I've been prepping for a revision to the sleeve since spring with therapy, classes, and all my clearance tests. I have my final dr visit 11/1 and am hoping for surgery on 11/28. I'm curious to find out how the two types of WLS are different feeling and how you eat etc. My thinking is that the VGS stomach will make you feel full like a normal stomach but just smaller amounts...where the band is moving food through a small hole and filling a top pouch instead of a full stomach feel. Do you throw up? Do you dump? I've heard someVGS do. I just want some scoop from those who've been there. Thanks!!! This is my first post
  7. I'm concerned and need to know. I read on one of the posts that the full feeling didn't hit some people until 6 weeks out bc of healing. I do get full but I think I can eat too much and or too often. I've yet to throw up. I'm an ex-lap band. Maybe bc of that? Thoughts?
  8. Thanks Partofme! Dang Chrisymas is a hard time to be "good". I'm not gaining and I'm thankful. Holidays aren't forever and I'm determined Less of me in 2013!
  9. Yeah that's what I'm thinking too bc I notice I'm fuller when I do. Figuring my way through it My mom said she didn't think the chipotle was a cup so maybe I'm still in the 6 oz range. Next time ill get steak or carnitas and eat the meat first and not just beans.
  10. Tomorrow is a month. I had chipotle last night. Got a veggie bowl. Had about a cup. I can have a serving of pretzels or almost a whole Ready Pac spinach or Caesar salad. Almost a whole egg beaters single serve with cheese. An ounce of nuts. A cup is a lot. More than 4-6 ounces but then again rice and black/pinto beans are soft things and I was stuffed. Just worried bc I'm already stalled 2 weeks.
  11. Congrats on the break-out Liz!! Let the house go or have your fiancé pay for a cleaner. Take it easy and heal so you don't have to go back!
  12. I am doing well. Wednesday was my 3 week mark. My clothes are already feeling better I went to my first support group meeting last night and am still learning how I feel and how this process works for me. Congrats on your loss so far!!from my pre-op start on 10-16 I am down 25 pounds so far. I hit a little stall when I was moving in to week 3 but the NUT and Bariatric Coordinator says that's natural bc your body is adjusting. Thanks for checking in!
  13. I've actually gained 3 pounds since Monday and I'm not even breaking 1K calories. I'm drinking protein, having egg beaters, fresh mozzarella with spinach, refried beans, chicken salad, apple sauce....all things in smaller quantities. All I've been drinking is water...like 60 oz at least. So I'm in week 3. Is that why?

I feel like such a failure

Ok, I have a question I was just going to post. How do you know you feel full? Today is 2 weeks for me and I am on soft/mushy stuff. I was eating my egg beaters the morning and I can feel it in me but then I still feel a grumble. Are the grumbles because of healing or really hunger? Over about 30-45 mins I ate a 4oz portion cup of egg beaters with a slice of ff cheese and ketchup. Sounds gross but it's good. I just wonder what it really feels like to be full. Sometimes I get a glimpse but not all that I eat.
  15. So, I am on day 10 and I know that I am ready to move out of liquids. Even thick puréed soup doesn't stick long now. So tonight my mom was going to stop by after she went out to dinner. I asked for a hush puppy. She brought two. I chewed well so they were mushy but I am horrified that I could eat two! And possibly some other dinner here in a bit. I'm freaking out. I watched Dr Alvarez's video on "how big is my stomach" and he says 4-6 oz? So I'm thinking ok, how many ounces are those hush puppies? Shouldn't I still be swollen? Or is day 10 normal to not be that swollen anymore? Am I normal? I'm still in that place where I am so scared I am going to fail. That's all I've known.
