Clammy, sweaty and energy drop after eating
Losin4good replied to Camella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get like that, along with other symptoms from stuff containing sugar. I never had an issue with sugar before surgery but now i am extremely sensitive to it. I have to check everything for hidden sugar. I have also heard of people feeling like that from eating too fast. -
I have a goal: I would like to do a triathlon sometime in the next few years. It is a goal my husband and I want to do together. As soon as he finishes school in the spring, we will be dedicating a lot of time to training. I want to continue doing other races. In the last 2 1/2 months I have done a 12k and two 5k's. although, I am new to races and right now I just focus on finishing, not time

What do you do when your coordinator is avoiding you?
Losin4good replied to NotLookinBack's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My original surgeons coordinator was like that. It was like she was playing games with me. I was self pay, so I took my business elsewhere. Not so sure if I would have done that if my insurance had already approved everything, like in your case. I would do what someone else mentioned and contact the office manager. She should not be allowed to treat you like that -
I am interested in hearing replies also. I have a consultation with a local plastic surgeon next week. I have gone to my general doctor several times to document rashes to help prove my case. I will let you know what I find out too

The goal weight number
Losin4good replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To clarify, she understands wls, but I am pretty sure that I am her first client. So she is leaving the diet side of my health up to me. Our biggest goal right now is building muscle. In the past 2 months since working with her I lost 31 inches! I am not a measuring girl, it didnt interest me when i had surgery last August. Now i kind of wish i would have! -
The goal weight number
Losin4good replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pretty sure that I am her first wls client. Or at least, openly admitted wls client. I am an unusual client for her as she normally focuses on diets also. But I had my diet under control already, and she is not familiar with our diets, so she is leaving me alone in that department which i prefer! lol Besides the diet, its business as usual. She kicks my butt! -
The goal weight number
Losin4good replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never discussed a goal weight with my surgeon. My personal trainer and I decided on 150 about 2 months ago. I started in August at 356 so that will put me at losing 206 total. I am currently down 162 pounds. Honestly, I just started to breathe easier once I got to "onederland". Before then, I was worried to set a goal -
kicked off of a fair ride....
Losin4good replied to kali480's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've never had a "mortified" roller coaster experience. I just avoided them by saying I am scared of them. But last summer (before surgery) I was at the public pool with my kids and this 12 year old punk kid said to one of his friends as I walked by "they shouldn't even let fat people in the pool, they are so gross!" Talk about heartbreaking. I prayed my kids didnt hear it because I didnt want them to feel shame because of me. -

Losin4good replied to kali480's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have pretended to my husband and kids for the past 15 years that I am terrified of roller coasters. The truth is, I was too big. I had surgery last August. Last month we went to the theme park and I went on every ride. I also went down all of the water slides with my daughter. We had so much fun! It was the best weekend of my life. I finally got to "Onederland", ran a 5K, rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle AND went on roller coasters!!!! Seriously love my sleeve! -
The only one I can tolerate is splenda.

Today is my 10 month surgiversary! To make it more special, I finally made onederland! I am down nearly 160 pounds!

Im addicted to weighing "/
Losin4good replied to amytug's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I wouldnt do it if it caused negative emotions. I weigh everyday, but I only record once week. So if its not record day, and i am up .5, then I think about what I did the day before that I could have done differently. More water, less carbs, more walking, etc. its a tool. But the number doesn't define me. -

My personal trainer told me she would rather me weigh everyday than avoid the scale like I did for years. It holds me accountable I weigh every morning but only record once a week. -

Onederland! And 10 month update :)
Losin4good replied to Losin4good's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for the support! I posted this 10 days ago and the day I posted it I rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle for the first time. Then the next day I ran a 5k. And then the next day I went to a theme park and rode roller coasters for the first time in 15 years! My life is so much more fun now! I cannot even express how thankful I am to have my sleeve! From severely morbidly obese to doing all of those things=priceless! -
Not sure whats going on!
Losin4good replied to NeverBeTheSameAgain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If this continues and you start to feel sluggish or dizzy or anything else out of the ordinary, go get some IV fluids. Sometimes its hard to get caught up on fluids. -

We have an 8 year old Maltese named Buddy and a 2 year old Pekingese named Gizmo. They have completely opposite personalities, but are best friends. My life would not feel complete without them! -
Jul 12/aug 12 sleevers
Losin4good replied to kyzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 8/14/12. I am currently down almost 160 pounds. I have about 40 to go. I eat between 3 and 4 total ounces per meal. And I eat 5 times a day (including snacks). I eat about 100 calories a day. I do not eat much bread, rice, or potatoes. If i do, its just a bite here or there. They just dont interest me anymore. And I am sugar intolerant. A hinderance and a blessing all in one I cannot even begin to say how much my life has changed! Rode on the back of my husbands motorcycle on Friday, Ran a 5K on saturday and went to a theme park on Sunday! Things i could have never done. And thats just the past 3 days! lol -
Congrats!! I also ran my first 5K on Saturday!! My husband and I ran the "color me rad" 5K. It was so much fun!!!

Ever been called fat by a kid?
Losin4good replied to a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Different things bother different people. If being called "fat" doesnt bother you, GREAT! Here's a cookie---a protein packed, sugar free cookie, of course Some people get offended when people say surgery is the "easy way out". It does not bother me one bit. Because again, their ignorance is no concern of mine. Once I saw a post on here about someone couldnt stand the world "hubby". Again, that word doesn't bother me. A little 12 year old prick saying that fat people are gross---yes, that does strike a nerve. Unfortunately the word "fat" is mostly used in negative ways. And given how many regular everyday words have turned into negative words, i dont really see society changing it back to nothing more than a descriptive word. Though, wouldn't that be wonderful. -
Ever been called fat by a kid?
Losin4good replied to a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last summer at the public pool I overheard a kid tell his friend as I walked by "They shouldn't let fat people even in the pool....they are so gross". I was mortified! But thankful that my daughter didn't hear it. Ultimately, kids learn it somewhere, and their ignorant parents are not my concern, but that doesn't mean that it didnt hurt!
