    Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size

I am sorry for what you are going through. Like PP said, maybe a week or two on the pre-op diet is all you will need to lose those pounds. I was wondering, if you don't mind me asking, what your weight is? I am pre-op and this is one of my worries.
  3. Hi- born & raised in JC! I am in Bergen County now, but still go to JC to visit the folks.
  4. I have bad knees and fibomyalgia which limited the type/amount of exercise I could do. The pool is the best place for me. I did Water aerobics and it didn't hurt the knees at all. Also (bonus) the water weight workouts are awesome for the arms. Even when I couldn't do a class, I would get in the pool and walk around, do weights on my own, or do "laps" with the paddlebaord. Can't wait to go back to the pool.
  5. Included in my surgeon's list were: Extensive bloodwork, Glucose Challenge, EKG, Abdominal Ultrasound, sleep Study, and Endoscopy. Coupled with the insurance companies requirements, it's like a full time job trying to keep track of what I have to do next.

Plastic Surgery With Obese Bmi Goal?

I am on the 90 day plan with Aetna. That required 3 medical visits, 3 nut viits, and 3 psych visits within the 90 days. That was really annoying as the psych said I was good to go after the first visit, but yet I have to go back and waste my time (and his). That is the last hurdle I need to jump through before they can submit to Aetna. Ironically, if I had chosen the 6 month plan with Aetna, I would have only had to visit the nut and psych once. Go figure. That's cool that you have a really good secondary insurance. I don't carry one at work because my husbands plan is uber great through UPS.

Plastic Surgery With Obese Bmi Goal?

Hi-we are almost identical stats as well, except that I am about two inches shorter. My goal is inline with yours. There is no way I will ever be at a normal bmi (100lbs is just not happening). My insurance would cover some plastics only if there is a medical need (ie constant, medically documented rashes and problems with the hanging pannus). I am already planning on saving my pennies for plastics because I expect to need full lower body work not just the work on the apron, plus maybe some work on my girls (they are mishapen already due to lumpectomies).
  8. Again, sorry if this is TMI, but I am so frustrated. I am currently at my heaviest. I am used to the chafing during the summer (thanks goodness for chub rub gel), but now I have a new issue. I am constantly sweaty down there- all the time! My kitty is sweaty (a bit stinky) and the skin under the belly. It i driving me cray. I have gone so far as to start using anti-antiperspirant/deodorant to try and make it better. Now, to top it all off, I seem to be sweating so much, I have clogged sweat glands. These are the most painful things I have ever had, and if they don't go away with siitz baths, I am going to have to have them lanced by a doctor. Aside from the pain & embarrassment factor, I am left wondering: What type of doctor would you go to in order to have your vagina lanced- a regular doctor, a dermatologist, or my gynecologist? Again, sorry about the TMI, but I have no where else to turn. I mean, this isn't something you can bring up around the water-cooler.

    And The Wait Begins

I am in Northern NJ, so I am planning to have it at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. The practice I go to is one of the Bariatric Centers of Excellence in Aetna, so it is in-network. I refuse to pay for out-of-network fees if I can help it. My final visit with the pych is on Sep 13. After that, I am done with all the requirements for Aetna. I was secretly hoping for a date in the Oct 8-12 range. I doubt that I will be that lucky.

    And The Wait Begins

Gee, I am also Aetna. I will be having my final hurdle appointment next week. I too was hoping for a quick date, but we'll see. I hope that the approval process goes quickly for you.

Sorry For Tmi- Ms Kitty Problems

The chub-rub gel is actually Anti-Chafing cream by Monistat. It is a god-send. As for the blocked sweat glands, they look like raised white bumps, almost like pimples. The stuff in them though, is not clear or liquid-y. It comes out like dry, almost like cheese. They itch a little, but once it gets too irritated, they hurt like a sonofagun too.
  12. Funny thing, I commute daily on buses, with narrow-ish center aisles. I dread walking up the aisle, because I have to either go straight up, and possible knock people with the hips/thighs, or try to go sidewinding up the aisle, in which case I might get them with the but/belly. I also can't wait to not be the last person on the bus that someone is willing to sit next to, because I may take up some extra space. I usually sit on the inside and lean into the window, so rarely is there any overhang into the next space. This doesn't stop people from making the face and sitting elsewhere. I mean seriously, sometimes they choose to sit next to the regulars with BO, over me. When I see this, then I uncompact myself in the seat and just hang all over, so that they can't be comfy if they abandon the stinky seat (my way to be spiteful).
  13. Like PP said- step away from the scale! Like any time we tried to diet in the past, the more you obsess about what he scale says, the worse it will seem.
  14. One that I have developed recently, as my weight has gone up: I can't wait to not have to check the weight limits on things: zip-lining, bungee jump rides, treadmills, chairs, etc.... Also, as a Coach bag-a-holic: I can't wait to not be disappointed that the new purse I fell in love with doesn't fit on my arm in any comfortable way, shape or form because the straps are too small for my chubby arms.
  15. Congrats on your loss so far. You were one of the first people that got sleeved since I started reading the forum. Its so great to see your progress.
  16. Just remembered one: I can't wait to not have my arse cheek pinched/caught as I sit on a toilet with a loose seat that shifts off in one direction while I overcompensate in the other direction. Ouchie.

    Pissed

Well, I know that I have gained 70 pounds over the ten years that I have worked at my job, but have only gone up one pant/dress size. I still wear the same clothes that I always wear, and apart from having a bigger muffin top and rounder tummy, probably don't look too different to my co-workers. I can totally see them not saying/noticing anything when I start losing.
  18. I can't wait to be not being too big bellied to have sex with the hubby while on top! Being short and big belly getting in the way make it impossible. I can't wait to not being able to wear heels because my feet hurt and swollen. Also, I can't wait to not have to buy shoes in special widths unknown to man because of the swelling. Ladies 5.5EEE not an easy size. I can't wait to not have to buy slip-on shoes only because I can't bend down to tie laces. I can't wait to not be able to go to the bathroom in public places because the space is too small or the toilet too high to make cleaning myself possible. (Again, short & fat bad combo). I can't wait to cross my legs. The fat and severe inflexibility that goes with it make it impossible. I can't wait to not looking like a slob every time I eat something. I can't wait to not having my fat roll on my desk and strike keyboard keys when I go to answer the phone.

Have you called your insurance company yet to find out what their requirements are? This way you are prepared for whatever you need to do.

This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)

Fear of FUPA surgery- That's a new issue I need to bring up to the Psych guy that insurance is making me see one more time before approval. I used fear of excess skin the last time.
  23. I think you look awesome!

Sorry For Tmi- Ms Kitty Problems

Thanks again for all tips. I raided the Feminine Hygiene section of WalMart yesterday and picked up the Summers Eve wash, wipes, and powder and some washcloths. Hopefully this will do the trick.
