School starts for some of us in August and others in September. How do you plan to keep a routine with your diet? I don't know my schedule yet. I teach high school so anything goes but I know I want to be able to eat my lunch and not be rushed.

Since my surgery 6/28 I have not complained of severe pain just minimal not enough for pain meds. Just beginning an hour ago I got in my car to pick up my godson and a terrible pain hit. It is no where nears incisions. It's on my lower right side and only hurts badly when I am sitting straight up. It doesn't hurt if I am leaning back or standing straight up. It is a piercing pain like someone is pinching something on the inside of me in one spot. Arrrgghhh!!!!!

Awesome! Keep it up and as soon as I am cleared for weight training I am there to help minimalize the sagging skin. I know for a fact WT helps! What are folks saying at 100 lbs less of you in 3 months

Never diagnosed with cysts but the pain only happens when I sit low and bend but when i stand and recline I am fine. It feels like a knot and since Day 3 I felt the pain but it subsided each day. I will call the doc tomorrow his office was closed today and it's not a pain that I would run to the ER for. Tomorrow will be one week since surgery do I am praying that what i am experiencing are my insides healing from surgery. I have been able to pinpoint the pain to the right of my navel about 2 inches from it.

I still have my appendix. This pain is only bad when I am sitting low

Fighting The Food Blues

Oh I am having a pool party despite my recent sharp pains. I have ribs, zummo sausages, my famous BBQ baked beans and enjoying watching everyone eat! -
I meant grazing lol

Since joining this group I have been reading a lot of what people are consuming. I see very little vegetables which are important to healthy weigh loss especially green veggies. So what veggies are you consuming? I can have cooked green veggies at week 3 post op.

My prayers are with you for perfect healing

I priced a juicer and can't wait to buy it when I am able to include veggies. They are too important to healthy living. Woman can not live by Protein alone! Lol

All I Want To Do Is Sleep (3 Days Post-Op)
msvickee replied to ready4change79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6/28 too. I slept 12 hours straight on that Friday then went home Saturday and slept. We are not yet a week out and it is perfectly normal to be tired but it should get better each day. Once you start moving - walking your energy will increase. Day 5 I was walking around Walmart passing gas and all. Lol -
How many days or weeks out are you?

Who Else Is On 2 Week Liquid Diet
msvickee replied to njsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be on Day 8 of my liquid post op diet Thursday 7/5. Our liquids are described as thin liquids (week one) and thicker liquids (week 2). I have been getting my protein from the Bariatric Advantage Shakes 2 shakes per day which is 54g of protein since Day 5 because I couldn't really get much down. Soft foods week 3 and Solid Foods week 4. The shakes keep me full and satisfied for now. -

Who did your surgery in Houston? I had Dr. Kenneth Hollis 6/28.

You know gas pains can make you feel like you are at death's door. It wasn't gas was it?

I notice some similarities with our pre and post op. I was sleeved 6/28. Dropped 17 lbs pre op and did water aerobics almost everyday leading up to surgery even the night before. I was up walking post surgery but not as much as you. Day 3 I was sent home. Day 5 I was walking around Walmart sipping on my protein shake. No pains meds since Day 2 while in the hospital. I am walking everyday not just around the house. I am following the doctor's orders because he is the expert. I have my post op drs appt July 10th and looking forward to it actually. I think when we follow the prescribed plan we tend to have less complications and more success. Good luck on your journey.

Pain and I are not friends. While on the hospital the nurses kept asking if I wanted more morophine. I got my last dose on Day 2 and gave not had to get my pain meds at CVS. As a matter of fact I called ad told them I would not be picking up the prescription. I don't know what contributed to my minimal pain but I thank God. I guess because I still sleep with a CPAP machine, I don't feel much pain in my deep sleep. The only pains have now are gas pains and I walk those out. I don't have stitches Dr. used Derma Bond so no pain there.

Uncooperative Pcp?
msvickee replied to Christine1322's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon who is also a leading researcher of bariatric surgery said that in a survey of doctors who are not supporters said they revealed they are afraid of loosing patients who have health problems once the weight is off. That is so selfish and greedy. -
Haven't Lost Much Sleeve Oct.2011
msvickee replied to MANDY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mandy, my dieticians have always said that bananas are not good for weight loss. Sounds like you have hit a plateau. You can break it just need to change some things. You can do it ! -

I followed the Quick Weight Loss plan for 10 days of my 14 day pre op diet because I knew I would loose the weight and I started my 2 shakes and 1 meal on day 11. It worked because I lost 17 lbs by my surgery date. The purpose is to get your liver to shrink for the surgery. I don't regret it because the doc said my liver looked great and smaller during the surgery. I also did water aerobics every other day during my pre op.
