Hummus And Pb How Much
msvickee replied to cynthia4722's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably only get in about 2 to 4 tsps. I did both around day 11 and was stuffed -
I can not understand why fruits which have natural sugar is bad. I have having a really hard time grasping that. I lost my first 25 lbs in one month before pre-op diet and surgery eating 2.5 Protein servings, 4 veggie servings, 3 fruit servings and 3 starch servings per day. Can someone please explain this to me?

I was tempted to make a de broccoli soup but just might way a few more weeks. I would think if the brocolli were cooked to a softness it would. E fine. Guess I will do some mushy green beans I am craving some green veggies in my life!

4 Days After Surgery And Worried
msvickee replied to girlnamedNikki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Although every surgeon's post op is different one thing I think is consistent is being on those liquids the first 2 weeks. You've eaten part of a sandwich, oatmeal, etc really too much for your new stomach. As I've stated in a previous thread, compare your new stomach to a baby's stomach. At one week old you wouldn't give a baby a piece of sandwich or Cereal...you give him liquids. Your surgery will help you loose the weight but it's a tool you will have to do your part. Get your Protein shakes in and sip your Water throughout the day. You can do this! You just need to get a regime going -
I posted a healthier homemade ranch dressing in previous post because Hidden Valley has MSG. The homemade ranch tastes better than the powdered mix and the bottled stuff.

Whatever became of the Houston sleeves? I'm in Houston too. -
Our new stomachs can be compared to a baby's stomach. The baby is on liquids, then thicker liquids if you choose to put a dab of baby Cereal in the milk to thicken it up, then on to puréed foods and so on. We don't give babies a chicken leg at 1 month old do we? Lol I certainly hope not. We should not be so quick to want to introduce all of the foods we once ate and loved before its time. Protect our stomachs like we would protect our babies' stomachs.

I massage mine and apply heat to it. It is a booga bear of a pain and I have been limited in my mobility for 3 days! The nurse said it is normal and just takes time.

After my surgery as I was waking up the nurse said let's hurry up and get you to your room because of your obstructive sleep apnea. I guess the snoring kicked in lol. I love my CPAP because it guarantees me some good sleep. My primary told me that the pressure will be reduced from 16.0 in about 3 months and I may be off of it completely within a year. Once I make it to twoterville I will request another study because I was 372 when I was diagnosed.

Today 43 is the best number. I turned 43 and I am down 43 lbs since starting my journey. Feeling pretty good except this painful healing ridge MsVickee

I know right? I can't believe the transformation in just 4 weeks....check me out in 6 months lol

This surgery was being used as a phase one before a phase two surgery was performed but saw results with this first phase. I drilled my surgeon about leaks and he said none of his patients have ever got a leak. I feel confident and a leak is not in my future. I trust God through this journey too. Although anything is possible, I say follow the doctors orders to minimalize complications.

Surgery was June 28 but I count my weight loss from pre op diet June 14 which is when I took my before pic

I can't recall if PB is ok for the puréed/soft food stage? I ran out of Protein shakes and trying to get in my Protein today.

Egg day 2: so I gave it another try today and used half a slice of 2% cheese and I was able to eat the entire scrambled egg this time. It took 30 mins but I got it down!

Burping, belching, feeling bloated, passing gas all normal and will eventually subside ...walking really helps so you can pass the gas

I started puréed foods today and the same with not feeling well and vomiting. I guess this is all a part of learning our sleeves. I figured tomorrow I will go back to my first two weeks regime and try puréed foods again next week.

I've been reading quite a bit of posts with cheese recipes. I want to start trying some soon. Is it best to use fresh cheeses or the stuff you can buy in a container (mozzarella, Parmesan, ricotta, etc.)? Help Sent from my iPhone using VST
