    Back Pain

Yes, I did! It was almost like spasms. It went away after about a week though.
  3. I am six weeks out and seem to have the hardest time keeping lunch down. I have had things such as egg salad, tuna, steamed shrimp. I start eating and then feel very queasy and then run to the bathroom and throw it up. What do you guys like to have for lunch? That stays down!!!!
  4. Once you start eating real protein, it will fill up fast. I just sat down to have 4 ounces of steamed shrimp and could not finish them all. (Surgery 7/5)
  5. I was on it before surgery (7/5) and my dr prescribes Pepcid twice a day after surgery. I went off the omeprazole and have been fine with the Pepcid. I had horrible reflux before surgery!!!

    What To Pack For Hospital

    1) Your own pillows - hospital pillow are awful. 2) Lip balm-my lips were so dry the whole time. 3) Ear plugs - these were a lifesaver for me!! 4) Slippers
  8. I was sleeved om July 5 and some days I do great and everything agrees with me. Today I had the same lunch I have had all week - very thinly sliced turkey lunch meat with a little cheese and mayo to moisten. Today it did not agree with me and it came back up. Do others of you have days like this? Also, I sometimes wake up feeling a bit nauseous. I am on pepcid twice a day. Anybody wake up like this? VEry frustrating!!

    Question For Post Op

Yes, mine looked like a second belly button!! I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. It is MUCH better.
  10. I am 2 weeks out today and my lower right incision is still so sore at times. My dr. told me they have to really stitch deep in the muscle when they close that incision, so I understand how that could be painful. I went to the gym yesterday and did a good 30 minutes walk. Last night I was so sore that I took my pain pills, When does this pain go away???

    Feeling Down

You are totally normal!!! I had a complete meltdown a week after surgery as I was so overwelmed with the supplements, etc. Also I think there is really a let down after the surgery. You have been going to classes and waiting sooooo long for this and then it is over. Of course that is GOOD though. Hang in there!!

    Incisions/scars

My surgery was a week ago and I am a teacher so I am off. My lower left incision is still pretty sore and am glad I have the time off to get used to all of this!!
  13. Right there with you on the back pain and incision pain. The other incisions are fine. I feel like my back is almost having spasms. I had surgery on the 5th. Misery loves company!!! Plus, why is that incision so "dimpled" looking???
  14. Know how you feel! I had my surgery On the 5th and had a teary meltdown this morning. I am okay now and know this is a slow process. It is so hard to have to THINK about getting fluids and proteins in. Also. the lower right incision is so painful!! Hang in there!
  15. My niece had bypass about five months ago and when I told her i was having the sleeve, she made the comment that " Well, a donut go down as easily as healthy protein." She acts like she is the authority on this and that the bypass is the only way to go!! HELLO, I do not think I will be stuffing my self with donuts any time soon. My surgery is Thursday- pre-op sucks!!!
  16. Let's make that " a donut can go down as easily..." I am an English teacher so I had to correct my bad grammar!! Thanks for the kind words!

    My Surgery Is Thursday!

My surgery is Thursday as well! So sick of this pre-op diet!!!
  18. I am having my sleeve done on July 5th. I was excited to find this site. I need to lose 100 pounds and am so ready!!! This has been an interesting road for sure. I went in June 19th for Gastric bypass. Imagine waking up and finding out they couldn't do the surgery!!! I have freaky anatomy and the way my intestines are configured, it would not be safe for me to have the bypass. The surgeon has only seen this one other time. I just sobbed!! He then told me I could have the sleeve. Sooo, I am back on the pre-op diest for THE SECOND TIME and getting excited for Thursday. I am curious as to how all you decided on the sleever vs. bypass? Looking forward to being a part of this group of "losers."
