Questions for women who got pregnant after being sleeved
newlifeforlittleME replied to kcaaunt's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I was sleeved 7/31/2012. Got pregnant 2/14/13. I am 24 weeks now and have gained 3 pounds total. I have no problems eating enough ad have found that my capacity has increased since finding out I was pregnant. Dr not concerned. I was still rapidly losing when I got pregnant and was still hoping to lose another 50 before my nice little surprise. I have a 2 and 4 year old already and I required fertility drugs to conceive both of them so BE CAREFUL...once the weight starts coming off our fertility increases drastically...apparently. I feel soooo much better with this pregnancy than the other two and doc says I just "temporarily" halted my progress. Good luck to you!! -
7months post op and pregnant

Hello all. I had my vsg on July 31. Started out at 306 and now at 225. Still wanted to lose another 50 pounds but much to my surprise, I am pregnant. Conceive on Valentines Day (so cliche). However excited I am, I am still very very nervous. This definitely wasn't a planned thing. I have two sons, ages 4 and 2. I conceived both of them with the help of Clomid so I honestly didn't think it could happen naturally. Boy was I wrong. I'm not looking for ridicule because I know what the recommendation is for pregnancy after wls. I am just interested in the story of others who conceived so early following surgery. We're there struggles with eating? Did you gain all your weight back? I was a cash surgery and have no intention of being that big again. Any words of wisdom you can offer??? -
Help!
newlifeforlittleME replied to newlifeforlittleME's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks. I WILl admit. Water is soooo hard to get in each day. I'm a gulper and not a sipper. It's hard to sip all day long. But I'm soooo gonna make that my next priority. Thanks all. -
I'm in the never ending stall. Or... I'm done losing?!?! Surgery was 7/31 and I was 288 morning of. First month after surgery, the weight poured off. Now as of today I am 246 and the scale won't move! I eat less than 800 calories per day. I will admit, I don't get all the protein in I am supposed to but damn close. I have been at this weight for almost a month now and I am so frustrated. I don't eat much which I am ok with but paying 14k CASH I feel stupid!!! Tell me one day it gets better. I exercise. Eat healthy. Don't snack. Ugggghhhhh!

Hello everyone. I had my surgery on 7-31-12. I started out at 306 and after two week preop diet I was 288 day if surgery. I am 5'7" and 35 years old. My journey started out so well and the weight was just pouring off. For the last 10 days...not a SINGLE pound gone. Each day the scale reads 254.6. It's so frustrating. I'm so happy with what I've done thus far but Lordy!! How long will this silly stall last? Just need some encouragement. I am doing everything by the book. No more than 600 calories per day. 80 of protein. Exercise. Ugh! I know I can push more water...that I need to do but I'm just curious as to if anyone has experienced the same frustration??

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I am 35 years old two kids: 3 and 1. I am 5'7. Surgery was July 31st. My starting weight was 306 and after two week liquid diet, I was 289 day of surgery. Today I start my sixth week (exactly 5 weeks post op) and I was 258 this AM. Just got out of a 5 days stall but prior to that I generally watched the scales move about a pound per day. Gee, sure would be nice if that continued...ohhhh, for about the next 130 days , but I'll take what I can get. This weekend was actually my first experience with real food and all I can say is...I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!! I have had ZERO problems at all thus far. I have not had a problem with anything yet I just can't eat much...thank God! The thing is, I crave good foods and honestly, fried or greasy foods just no longer appeal to me. I already have tons more energy, look better, feel better, get TONS of compliments and I can say this was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. For those who have struggled with their weight and are looking for something to help them refocus their eating habits...do it do it do it! I know not everyone has such a simple experience but for me...no problems at all!!! Geez...two c-sections were worse than the sleeve surgery, even on the worst days. Pics to come soon. Good luck to all of you waiting for surgery and those new in the journey as I am. Not a SINGLE SOLITARY regret!!!!!

Hi all. Had my sleeve done July 31st. Yesterday was my first time eating real food in 8 weeks. Tried sushi and it was WONDERFUL! My sleeve handled it well. Treated myself once...now, healthy eating here on out! Super excited and I crave good foods now. Have no desire for fried or greasy. Thank God. Just had to post for all the sushi lovers out there.

How To Know When Your Full?
newlifeforlittleME replied to NCsleever63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with DEZ. When you are full...you will totally know and for me...it's usually too late. Only happened twice but LORDY! Eat SLOW! You will feel it and trust me...STOP at that point. It's hard at times because you just want ONE more bite. Not worth it. I can do about 1/2 cup and I've learned to really visualize what that 1/2 cup looks like. -
Need some good ideas for mushies. Tired of fat free retried beans and just cannot phathom blending meat! Ideas please??
-
Just want to say...overfilling your sleeve...SUCKS!!!! That's why it is soooo important to eat slowly and try not to eat on the go! Lesson learned.
