I have lost almost 50 lbs since march 15th, my banding date, and I swim 4 or 5 times a week. I have been working my butt off and not losing what I thought I would. Is there anything else I can do that I haven't been doing? I have worked up to swimming a mile twice a week and going to aqua fitness classes and swimming after twice a week. Thanks ahead of time for any advice

True!!! I guess I just see other people who are losing weight faster and get a little envious. A friend of mine was banded in September 2012 and has lost 120 lbs to date and does not workout although she was a little over 50 lbs heavier than I was when I started.

I love swimming..I am 3 and a half months post op and I swim 4 to 5 times a week. I also do an aqua fitness class at my gym and swim laps after..I also swam competitively all through high school. It was a bit intimidating at first but I soon got over it and decided I was doing this for me and it is something I like to do...each day I try to push myself to work harder than the last. And usually the lanes are roped off into individual lanes so you should be able to have one to yourself and you don't have to worry about anyone else and you can go at your own pace..anyway good luck on your journey

I was banded this past Friday, March 15, 2013. I was wondering how am I going to be able to get all of the calories and protein that I need because I can drink very little and feel very full which I like but I don't want my body to go into starvation mode and I'm pretty much constantly drinking something whether it is water or a protein shake. Thanks ahead of time for any advice

The atkins protein shakes are pretty good as well and they have some great flavors with only 2g carbs and 150 calories

I had my surgery Friday morning and I weighed myself this morning and I had gained 5 lbs as well. I was a little shocked but I figured it was from the surgery.

Thanks guys!! I already joined a gym and have been swimming and doing aqua fitness classes for the last couple of weeks so that getting up a going to the gym would start becoming a habit

It took me for what seemed like forever to jump through the hoops of Tricare but it finally happened!!! I was banded this morning at 8:30 a.m....I'm so excited to start this new skinnier chapter of my life so I can be healthier myself as well as my son!! So excited!!!
