Any other London bansters out there?
hellybelly replied to Magical_Me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Daisy. Sorry for the delay in replying. I self funded my band. I found that they were really nice. I decided to have the op in the UK for the local aftercare at the maidstone clinic. The surgery was in London, I think that the fills are in London too, Haven't had one yet. Got an appointment tomorrow with the clinic nurse, am going to ask for an appointment for my first fill, Have you made a decision yet on who you are going to go with? Good luck. Take care. -
Hello everyone, new here, from Uk
hellybelly replied to inuk's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi. H. I am also in the UK. south east in Kent, just wanted to say hi and good luck with your weight loss journey, I'm sure that you will find lots if support on here. also there is a UK forum you might want to look at. wlsifo.co.uk. They cover all weight loss surgery not just lap bands. good luck. take care! -
Hi, I would say that you will be OK. I have been eating as i did pre op for about a week now. I would just take it slow, especially with doughy things like bread and pizza as they go abit solid on the way down. just listen to your body and I'm sure that you will be fine. good luck with your weight loss journey!

disappointed with Lap band
hellybelly replied to jhpowell's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi. It sounds like the problem is with your consultant. I'm sure if you start a new thread asking if anyone knows where you can get fills done locally to you at a reasonable cost you will get lots of help. I live in the UK, so sorry this is all the advice i can give. good luck! don't give up. -
Have not had first fill yet...feel like I am eating too much, help
hellybelly replied to jport1975's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I am feeling exactly the same as you. I am not allowed to have my first fill until after 3 months, another two to go. I am now onto solid food so i am hoping that this will mean that i will stay fuller for longer. I recently had a visit with my nurse/dietitian and she thinks that i am not drinking enough water, and its actually thirst not hunger. I am trying to drink more, i work outside and the problem is the more i drink the more i need to find a toilet. Can't have it all i suppose!! -
HI. Welcome to the losing side. Good luck with your weight loss journey.
-
Hi. I was banded 4 weeks ago. I haven't pb'd yet, i hope i wont. gone onto solid food now, so maybe it's something to look forward too. yuk.

Hi silly question!!!:help: How do you get the weight loss ruler after your signature? I've been on the web site and created the ticker i want, but, how do you get it across please. Thank you. Ignore me!!! senior moment... worked out how to do it!!:clap2:

Hi. I am only 4 weeks post op and am always hungry. I had a visit with the dietitian/nurse on Thursday and she asked how much i am drinking water. which I'm not... or should i say wasn't. I now have a water bottle with me or a glass by side and sip sip sip all the time except for the 30 Min's before/after rule. this has really helped me.....just a suggestion, worth a try.

Hi. :girl_hug: Welcome to the site. just wanted to say hi and good luck with your weight loss journey.

Hi. This does sound like trapped wind. Try lying flat and rubbing where it hurts and try to relax. I seem to constantly have wind eze lozenges in my pocket or in my mouth. I'm four weeks post op. I'm sure this passes in time. Peppermint tea or extra strong mints also really help.

Hi Betty. I was banded in the UK on the 25 th Feb, so i,m quiet a newbie, i expect some more experienced bandsters will soon reply. For me so far everything has been OK. Immediately post op was uncomfortable mainly shoulder pain due to the trapped wind, but this does soon pass. The only other main discomfort has been the port site, but now one month on this is only now a little tender to touch. I am now on normal solid food, just less than pre op, i haven't had my first fill yet and am surprised at how much i can eat. Hope this gives you some insight. Good luck with your weight loss journey. take care

Keeping it a secret?
hellybelly replied to Fluffy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi. I was banded on the 25th Feb. I haven't told anyone except my partner. I thought long and hard about this decision and decided that i didn't need the pressure of everyone thinking the band was a miracle cure and that the weight would fall off. I have had no problem keeping this a secret so far.... -
Hi. help please.....:help: I was banded in London UK on the 25 Feb. The swelling has mainly gone except where the largest scar is. Port site?... The pain had gone, but... now its back with a vengeance! The whole area is swollen and really tender and the pain is waking me at night, it also feels like the port is sticking out. I'm assuming that this is the port site. Has anyone else had the same problem? Is this normal and just part of the recovery process? Thank you. Helen x

Hi I was also banded at the Highgate on the 25th feb with prof Hakim. I live in kent. How are you doing? Where are you going for your post op checks, is it the Maidstone clinic? Hope to hear from you soon:) -
:clap2: Hello! I was told about this site by a Bandster in the UK. As this is purely for Bandsters I thought I would take a look and say hi.

I was banded on the 25th Feb. 8 days post op. I.m doing ok. In the beginning the trapped wind in my shoulders was awful, that has finally gone now. the main discomfort is at the port site.
