    No loss in 1 yr

I am 20 months out and was a slow loser but now going in reverse. Total I had lost 60 pounds, gained 10 pounds back. So disappointed...now finding it extremely hard to lose or stick to diet. Also, cravings are back for sugar. Exercising like crazy and mot seeing scale move. Drinking my protein shake in morning but may not be enough. Anyone in my same boat that has had success breaking through and losing the regain?

    August Sleevers..what Is The Progress

I was sleeved on Aug 8th Down 21 pounds Some light headed ness Eating about 2 tablespoons of whatever (probably not good) Struggling to get my Protein and Water in Zumba 3x week
  4. Oh and regarding the stalls, my doc said we will experience stalls about every 3 -5 weeks. It's completely normal. She explains that your body is going through so many changes that it needs time to catch up. Just keep doing what we need to do so that our bodies can realize that it's the new normal.
  5. I posted earlier when I was in the hospital. My doc said I would be down 40 lbs by 6 weeks. I'm 4 weeks out and have lost 20. I'm happy. I'm ok with the slow weight lost as people aren't as quick to assume you had surgery. And it gives me time to really change my behavior. I love my sleeve and plan to rock it! My goal is to lose another 10 by end of month. From reading all of the threads, it seems we are all losing about the same between 18-20 lbs 4 weeks out. SOrry but that's damn good. I couldn't do this on my own and I tried for 10 years.
  6. I'm 2.5 weeks post and dying for a margarita. Meeting the girls tonight...not sure how I'm going to play this one as they do not know I had the surgery. Me not drinking and not eating much may raise brows. I might just order but not eat. Any suggestions?

    How Do You Do It?

Hi everyone. I'm 5 days post op and counting on the fact that things will get better. My first day home from the hospital was hell. There was good smelling food everywhere...grilled bbque chicken, potatoe salad, baked beans..hummus...all my favs. I tried to cheat with a small bite of chicken...chewed it to dust and iT literally felt as it it rip my insides out! Hard lesson learned... So now paying very close attention and noticed that the most I can tolerate is a small sip of liquid...just like the doc said...go figure! Literally, a gulp is self-punishment. I'm having a hard time getting any fluid so thanks for the tips as I don't want to end up in the hopsital for dehydration. My question is this, and im embarassed to ask but do any of you feel as if something is moving inside you stomach like a baby's movement? If you have ever been pregnant then you'll know what movement I'm talking about and NO I'm not pregnant! Not sure if those are hunger pains or what?
  11. In the hospital right now, 2 days post surgery. I'm nervous that I too will be that one sleever that doesn't lose weight. Didn't lose one pound during Pre-op period, but i didnt follow the diet per se. Was stressed out with my job? My doc said right before I went under that I should lose 40 pounds by week 6. That would be awesome, but we'll see.
  12. pumpkin, how are you doing now? Any regrets?
  13. You look incredible! So happy for you! I hope you realize that you were beautiful before the surgery! What was your starting weight and how much did you lose that first 6 months?

    4 Month Picture

Lacey D, congratulations! You look amazing. Did your stomach naturally get tight like that or have you been doing crunches like nobody's business?
  15. Question for the respondents of this thread. Why did you pick the sleeve over the bypass and what did you say to convince your doctor and the insurance company that the sleeve was best for you? I'm want the sleeve but my doc is trying to encourage the bypass though she said itsnupnto me.
  16. MagicMuffin and JLOR we share the same story. I'm 5'2 BMI 37, 204 lbs. was cheerleader in college. Went from 120 to 183 in 11 years after 3 kids, a hubby would loves to eat and loves sweets, a highly stressful job and no time for myself. Tried everything including eating right and rigorous exercise 2x a day for 5 days a week and after 6 months not even a pound lost. Nothing. So stressed out thatni didnt have a cycle for 2 years. Wasnt until I decided to have WLS thAt infelt relieved and wouldnt uou know my cycle came. Recently tried adipex got down to 174 but once the drug was out of my system gained 30 pounds within 4 short months. Now stuck at 204. Being so short, I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy. I also feel that my weight is the reason I continously get passed over for promotions at work. But that's another story. I want ME back desperately! So I'm getting the surgery. My questions are: why didn't any of you choose the bypass? I'm concerned about malabsorption issues when I'm 80, but my doc is encouraging the bypass. most of the folks who have had the bypass look sick to me and after awhile they start regaining. Anyone concerned about the long term effects with aging? Two years ago, I had my gall bladder removed...still experiencing dumping. How bad is the dumping with the sleeve?
