  2. No! Don't sabotage yourself. You're situational suffering is temporary. Smoking is not going to help you feel or be stronger. If anything, there are greater risks of further complicating your recovery and life. Try to find better coping that will leave you feeling powerful. Make something gor someone you live. Don't smoke. You don't need anything more to work through. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

  4. You can eat lots of savory Soups. Just add a scoop of unflavored protien. At about seven days out I puréed lentil Soup. Thinned it. It was exactly the opposite if sweet! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

  7. Walking in really good; also, when you are sitting or lying just pump your ankles and do circles. That keeps the blood moving. (Like you'd do on an airplane.) You're doing great!!! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
  8. I'm just a week post op. I couldn't make the requirements without 2 premier shakes and 3/4-1cup Greek yogurt per day. Eventually I will sub a shake for crab/shrimp/pulverized chicken or tuna. I have a great progressive diet booklet from my NUT. She says, for example, to food process the chicken with BBQ sauce. At your stage that'd be lunch with 4 wheat thin crackers. Maybe I can post the sample menu.... life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

  13. I am hoping those of us getting sleeved tomorrow will check back in about progress, etc. (I'm mobile most of the time and I don't see many July sleevers posting updates, yet. IDk if I'm looking in the right place or not. I'm not on the FB group either. ) What time are you checking in tomorrow? I'm checking in at 6:30a for a 9:30 surgery! What are they gonna do with me for three hours? Lol I'm all showered with the antibacterial soap and sleeping in "fresh linens" but I'm not sure how much sleeping I'll be doing. The 24hour liquid diet was straight forward. No complaints. I am tired though! How are you guys? Getting some sleep? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

    Main Incision Pain

I have a long history of pain management stuff. If you don't have instructions for ibuprofen, ask your doctor if you can take that. For me, Tylenol does not address this kind of pain. Doctor ordered 600-800mg four times a day. (I'm newly sleeved on 7/25.) I am the same with headaches. Tylenol just doesn't work for me. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. Any Oregon Sleevers?

No complications! I'm very happy with the short stay and long stay surgical teams at Good Sam. I have issues with pain management. I get really loopy but narcotics don't do a lot for my pain. So they worked really hard to get me comfortable. Finally switched to anti inflammatory and that's when I popped up out of bed. No snarky nurses. I think Dr Halpin is the lead doc at the weight institute. I'm not sure, though. I see Dr Patterson at her practice: Oregon Weightloss Surgery. Good luck to you! Any Oregon Sleevers?

Dr. Patterson is a rock star. Sleeved 7/25. So happy with her and the entire team and hospital experience. She became animated and more personable post-op. i think she is focused and some what detached pre-op. (I do not think this is a bad thing.) You're gonna do great!!!
