The bacteria are strong and concentrated! Make sure you are drinking 96oz of Water. Also try using dial soap or any antibacterial you like, daily. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

It's the bacterial byproduct of being in ketosis. I use Mitchum, too. I've been known to "freshen up" my pits with hand sanitizer 0.O I carry Listerine, as well. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

At about 65 pounds lost, ppl got confident enough to compliment me. Many said they thought I was losing a couple weeks before they said anything. Weight is such a touchy subject. I give ppl the benefit of the doubt. They don't want to hurt me. No one know so had surgery. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Idk that place. I'm mos post-op. when my family wants Tex-Mex, I eat tortilla Soup or a side of black or pinto Beans. It's sooooo much food! I sometimes just eat off DHs plate. Fajitas are a good option, too. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Experience With Oregon Or Washington Surgeons?
CBT replied to PrincessBelle's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I too am a patient of Dr. Patterson. She is incredibly efficient. That woman blows my mind. I've had two procedures with her. VSG in July and a abdominal hernia repair last week (from csection not VSG). I've been working with her office since January. Highly recommend this practice. No complications. Great follow up. She really listened to some feedback and made changes. While a guru for sure, still humbled by her patients. Great doctor and surgeon. My relationship with Good Sam hasn't been as involved; still, great nursing staff. No complaints. Things went very smooth. What are your specific questions? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -
You are probably losing massive amounts of lean body mass (muscle) and not fat. Your heart is a muscle. You absolutely have to get your Protein your skipping meals and low protein will cause slow weight loss. I really really really, no really, (lol) think you need to call your surgeon. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Sounds like you could return to previous stage and try again in a week. Just may be too soon. Beans and lentils, other than dairy, were my staples before I could tolerate meat. Lots of sleevers start on fish and shellfish. Seems better tolerated than meat. It does get better. You have a baby tummy :-) life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Vsg And Pregnancy-Losing Weight After Baby
CBT replied to NaomiesMommy's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congratulations on your baby girl! I had two children before I was sleeved. I wanted to write because I suspect you might want to pay more attention to your sleep and food choices. I think you might find the more fragmented your night sleep or the less total night sleep you get, the more carbs and more hunger you have the next day. There is quite a lot of science around sleep deprivation and weight issues. Recently more focus of food choices. Ppl use fast carbs to fuel feeling awake and alert. It's crazy the amount of calories a person will consume, over their normal day calories, when they aren't getting enough sleep. Be your own scientist. Track it. I wonder what you'll find? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -

ITA with iggy. Fever is a symptom. Please call your doctors. Sometimes too late is just too late. Not to be alarmist but being realist. I am happy for you that you got to hold your babies and come home. Iggy's kinda earned Oracle status around here. She has body and experience wisdoms. She's a good one to attach to :-) I gained 12 pounds during the VSG with swelling and IV fluids. I was in hospital two nights. So lots of IV. It was almost two weeks to lose that. Since then, I've never experienced a stall. On Monday, I just had a second surgery for abdominal hernia repair. Quite a major second surgery. I am now 3.5 mos VSG post op. I was losing 2 pounds a week and quite pleased with my progress. I gained 6 pounds during this latest procedure. I am swollen (takes blood volume to swell) but had less IV fluids. I dropped one pound yesterday. I also walked a mile yesterday. (I am recovering well enough to move which moves the Fluid.) this very long post to say, your scale will move. Your body is holding fluid and swelling in attempt to heal. You aren't gaining weight. Promise. I wish you all my best for a quick resolution to this problem. I also hope for calm and a peaceful heart as you move into recovery. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

I'm So Gassy And Need Some Tips On How To Get Rid Of It.

My hernia also caused by csections. My hernia was held in place a fat plug but as you lose fat the risk of obstruction is high. A year seems a long time... NUT is nutritionist. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -
Red meat is hardest for me to digest. It has to be really moist and chewed well. But, I eat some! Medically, red meat is known to trigger cellular inflammation. That can be a real problem in treatment of arthritis, for example. Your surgeon must have a personal-professional belief? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX

Talk to your NUT. You probably need to look closely at foods that cause gas IN YOU. Many ppl become lactose sensitive if not intolerant after VSG. cheese has more lactose than yogurt. Milk is the gassiest offender of dairy. Many carbs can cause gas. Including complex carbs. I have a friend who can not eat granola with out bloat and gas. Then there's the gassy veggies... Make sure you're practicing the basics of chewing and not gulping.... life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -

What Is Your Average Caloric Intake?

Sleeved July 25. Gym/exercise most every day. 900 calories per day. As my recovery progressed, my calories went from 600 to 800. Regular exercise brought daily calories to 900. life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -
Whats Wrong With Me?/

I was d/c from hospital on 20mg Prilosec twice a day. So one in AM and one in PM. I stopped the PM one at two months. I still take the AM one. It really works. That's not hunger. It's acid but it feels like hunger! Hope it works for you!!! life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -

Upper Respiratory Infection... Uggg... Craving Carbs
CBT replied to Robyn Owens-Miille's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too crave carbs when sick. Have you had Ezekiel bread (sprouted grains. Low carb. Natural foods freezer section)? That with a tsp of nut butter might help. Or scrambled egg. What carb do you crave? life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX -
I'm three months po. I eat about 900 calories now. My surgeon/NUT say three meals and two Snacks. I was having a hard time getting veggies because I'd get full so my NUT said drop last snack and eat second dinner. I have never had a stall. I workout most days. I drink my Water. If you don't get enough calories you will stall. When I'm consistently more hungry, I go back to basics: Protein first (think meat/dense). Then veg. Then fruit. Then complex carbs. I think your surgeon is whacked. Lol. Eat for health and wellness. You can't eat enough calories in two meals. You know that. Follow your instincts on this one. :eye roll: life is a journey, not a destination; so, stop running -H.D. THEROUX
