  1. I agree with ISG, buyer remorse appears to be super normal. Probably part of the forced change process. I remember having similar worries as did my many people sleeved around the same time in July, "my pack".
  2. I agree to follow up with your surgeon. In the meantime, make a list of concerns so you remember what to talk about but also so you can tell yourself to stop thinking about it all, it's written down. Research and read only the positive outcomes of WLS. Stop scaring yourself. <3 Focus on what is going well for you and the reasons you want to improve your health and well being.

    Any bike riders out there?

A little spendy but maybe worth it? There are PTs who have extra certification in cycling. You bring your bike to them and they measure and adjust to custom fit you to your bike. In that assessment, they are also evaluating your muscle imbalances, etc. My understanding is cost around 150-200 dollars.

  5. Look up exercises for pelvic floor dysfunction. [emoji6]
  6. For me often getting moving helps me move the sludgy feeling. However, I don't have a hole in my ureter. I don't push it. It's a balance between waking my body up and resting. You'll find your way!
  7. I'm not sure if you are just looking at the surgery deduct and coverage.... Also I think, haven't researched, but from these boards, it appears that secondary procedures and increase in visits are common in the first year post-op (gallbladders, hernia repairs, endoscopies) and more primary care visits. I would also consider any comorbidities like diabetes and heart disease that may need increased follow up...

    Lymphedema Treatment

It sounds like lymphedema to me. I wasn't sure what superficial thrombosis was so I had to look it up. Since it is similar to varicose veins and varicose veins are common with pregnancy, maybe that is what it is. According to this article, there really isn't a test for superficial thrombosis. http://www.merckmanuals.com/home/heart-and-blood-vessel-disorders/venous-disorders/superficial-venous-thrombosis I have SVT with multiple clots. Post op complication. I was actually sent to the ED by immediate care. The only diagnosis of SVT is ultrasound. If your doc says you have SVT without a scan I am speechless. SVT can "propagate" into the deep veins, DVT and PE. But more likely to get infected than to propagate. In any case, they're blood clots and should be studied. I have a repeat scan in 10 days to see if they are propagating. If they are the treatment gets more aggressive.

    Plantar Fasciitis

I had it in 2010. Things that helped: rolling a frozen water bottle under affected foot, rolling tennis ball, deep stretches that pull the fascia and not just muscles all the way up to my glutes, acupuncture. After 3 acupuncture treatments it was gone. I am on crutches and fully weight bearing on the foot that had PF in 2010. The day I got crutches that foot flared. I put an athletic shoe on and only took it off when I slept. Did the stretches, frozen water bottle and stayed off it as much as I could but had to walk at least every 2 hours. It resolved in about 4 days. It sounds like the pounding from court action was too soon. Like you still have a lot of inflammation. I hope it resolves soon. It's so hard to back off the things we love. Let me know what works for you.
  10. All that rapid drop in electrolytes. Keep eating [emoji5] Rest well and laugh. It's April fools. There's some good stuff on the inter webs.
  11. Huh. Maybe your kidneys just had to learn how to work again after surgery. This is great news in any event!
  12. IMHO the "stuck" sensation from dense protein is the behavioral feedback/modification of portion control (and eating slowly and taking small bites) that we get with WLS. If we eat around that, long term success is highly unlikely. Use the tool and it will work for you. Good luck and keep posting.
  13. Not that being at the WLS surgeon is t a good idea. It is....I wonder if you're having an intolerance to pain meds?
  14. Isn't your cardiologist conferring with the urologist who referred you? Your PCP ought to be involved. S/he coordinates your care between specialist so you are trying to make sense of all these body systems and what could be going on.
  15. Good news that it's not your heart. What's next?

Vets: What Are You Eating Today?

liquid is going pretty well. Yesterday was day 2. I'm free of 3.5 pounds! I had 3 shakes 2 poached eggs over raw spinach 2 Greek yogurt 1 Protein bar Half avocado 96 oz Water I'm on crutches but I hope to start cycling for PT this week. That will really help! Onward and downward
  17. So glad you got this checked out. What's really not normal is continuing to gain weight after coming home. I'm hoping for some good news and relief for you tomorrow.
  18. Have you had metabolic testing? Is that how you know it's you metabolism? Seems that could be addressed. This really reads like you would benefit from a new medical team.
  19. I hope questions are all cleared up for you tomorrow. Sounds like you have a proactive, decisive and responsive Doc!!
  20. Inflammation and all the IV fluids. I wonder how much kidney function reduces. That may also be why you're holding fluid. Then there's the constipation and slowwwwwww motility from anesthesia and narcotics. Our colons can hold 8-12 pounds of waste [emoji12] I just posted on a vets thread about some of this. Don't panic. It will come off when you start moving. It's not fat. Promise!

Vets: What Are You Eating Today?

I'm a couple weeks post op knee microfracture and started liquid diet today. I'm on crutches for 6 weeks. Non weight bearing on operative leg. This wasn't the surgery or recovery we had planned for. Surprise!!! Getting meals is a serious challenge. I've been at the mercy of all the loving people who feed me. It's a project! I'm realllllllllly feeling "beggars can't be choosers". Now I'm stronger and more agile. I just have to get all the Water weight off. No more peanuts! So I'm going for shakes, Greek yogurt, a Protein bar, and all the greens I want. Then a 350ish calorie dinner.

    Water - it really works

Is there a lemon to water ratio? My water bottles are around 32oz.
  23. I wonder if other fluids cause the same pain? I also wonder if how quickly or slowly you drink makes a difference? Hope you both get answers soon.
