I am pre-surgery and have not met with the surgeon yet. I trust in my physician but when it comes to the procedure, I would think that the surgeon knows more about the process. I am going to a facility that ranks really high for bariatric surgeries and treatments. Specialists should know more about what is best. What do you think?
Yes, I think Bariatric specialist should know best. Doctors orders vary and so my point is to follow your own doctors orders, not what someone says on this site or anywhere else.
Good luck to you.

These are extremely wise, honest words.
When I finally get to my goal weight I plan on giving myself the same 5 pound threshold. I think that's the mistake a lot of people make- they hit goal then get too relaxed. "oh it's only a 7 pound gain, no biggie" and "I'm still only 11 pounds from goal". Before they know it, they're now 40 pounds above goal and are going "I don't get it, I didn't change anything, how did I gain?!"
I hope others read this blog post. It's excellent!
Trust me it can creep back on very quietly!

yah, yah, yah... JK
This sounds like someone I may know/resemble. Funny thing, just knowing that I have my (long overdue) appointment on Tues. I have been very motivated. It does make a difference and "hiding" from the doctor certainly hasn't helped me.
Thanks for your encouragement and dose of reality. This is soooo true.
Love ya!!
You know I will do anything to encourage & support you (& my fellow bandsters).
Love ya too!

Dr. McDreamy did my band back in February 2012. Not only is he good for the eyes he is a great surgeon. Sounds like you go to True Results, if so hope to see you at the next support group meeting.

Every weekend on tv in Boston there is a show called The Phantom Gourmet. So on Sat & Sun for 1 1/2 hours i watch all about restaurants. So today was NE seafood, fried clams, lobster, you name it, fried. I said to my husband, I want fried shrimp, clams and onion rings. We are not having it but I so wanted it. NE fried food is so wonderful all summer.
So I totally understand your thoughts on food today. I made homemade meatballs for dinner. Boring!
Now I want NE fried seafood.....

Thanks Arlene. One of the things I stress to myself as well as other is to be honest. Writing this blog and logging all 9 ice creams in MyFitnessPal is being honest to myself & that is important to me.
You are right tomorrow is a new day.

Cabernet Sauvignon...Yummmm. We belong to a couple of wine clubs and get new bottles every month. Fortunately my wife can swig better than I can. But a nice cab with a small filet or rack of lamb? Or a huge chunk-o-salmon with a Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is heavenly and makes for a wonderful weekend meal.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a glass of wine, especially when you're counting the calories. I am a very firm believer that to be successful with any weight loss it has to be about moderation not deprivation. You are simply enjoying what you love in moderation.
Agree. I just want the newbies to know that they do not have to give up the things they love. All they have to do is manage them in moderation.

I tried to PM you but I got this message: The member Kime-lou can not use the messaging system

I have wine every night, I have since day one. Just remember that they are empty calories, log them in your calories for the day & enjoy!

Thanks everyone for your love & support. I really appreciate it. I go back to the doctor on Monday, so fingers cross that we have good news.
