Scared I'm Eating To Much!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Desiree123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a fast eater. I set the timer on my phone for 1 minute and start it every time I swallow. This makes me wait 1 minute between bites. I have been banded for 6 months and I still do this every meal. If I don't i end up eating too fast and get into trouble. -
Doing the happy dance for you!!!

Need Some Advice ~ Weight Loss Seems To Have Plateaued :-(
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Mxmom740's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you logging your food? I found that really helped identify what I was eating. I found that I wasn't eating the right foods....not the best choices. I'm now focusing on high protein, low carbs. I use myfitnesspal to log. It works great. -
Need Something Crunchy To Replace Chips?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to waitingpatiently's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What a great idea! I love cheese. I'm going to make these tonight!! Thanks -
My band is tighter in a morning. I drink warm liquid (coffee) to help loosen it up. Then about 2 hour after I wake up I can eat. As the day goes on it gets looser.....come evening it can feel too loose. Plus it veries from day to day. You will learn how finical your band can be. Lol.

Ok breath deep & relax. Everything will be ok. You made a good decision for your health. The band will change your life, in a good way. I was banded in Feb & have lost 53lbs. I feel great! Most people around me don't even know I'm banded, life is normal. The emotions & second guessing is normal. It too shall pass. You are doing great! **hugs**

Gaining Weight?!?!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to silly_weasel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are still healing. Try not to worry about weight, many of us gained during the healing stage. Stick to high protein foods and you will do fine. Its going to be ruff until you get restriction, hang in there. -
How To Get Past The Negativity?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to soon to be the new me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think a lot of negativity comes from lack of education. My parents were negative at first, I then gave them a copy of Dr O'Brien's book and asked them to read it. They did and their support changed greatly. Other than my husband, they are my biggest supporters. The other important support for me is my support groups, both online and in person. I couldn't do this without them. -
Wahoo, congrats!! Onederland is awesome. Keep up the great job.

2 Yrs In The Waiting Finally Banded On 7/25! Not Sure If Everything Is Normal?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to 2savemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Kristallynn, what you are going through is normal. Now is a time for healing so don't worry about what the scale says. I tried not to weigh myself for the first few weeks after surgery..... but I have to say I did step on the scale about once a week (its hard not to!) Anyway, congratulations on your new life, its a long hard process but worth every step! -

I add lemon to my water for a little flavor. I also found Arizona brand Ice Tea stixs. They are sugar free, 0 calories and taste good.

Did You Keep Your Surgery A Secret?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to KanesMom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
At first I only told my husband & parents. Over the last 6 months I have told more & more. Now if someone asks how I lost the weight, more times than not, I tell them about the band. I do explain the band & how it works as a tool, etc. Each person is different, some tell all because it helps keep them in track & accountable, others are more successful by keeping it to themselves. -
Take lots of walks on the beach. Anytime you start to feel tempted, walk away and go for a walk. You will be fine, enjoy your vacation.
