Welcome. It is always great to hear from long time bandsters. The band life style is always a work in progress. Love to hear all your wisdom.

Grand Poobah is a term derived from the name of the haughty character Pooh-Bah in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado (1885).[1] In this comic opera, Pooh-Bah holds numerous exalted offices, including "First Lord of the Treasury, Lord Chief Justice, Commander-in-Chief, Lord High Admiral... Archbishop of Titipu, and Lord Mayor" and Lord High Everything Else. The name has come to be used as a mocking title for someone self-important or high-ranking and who either exhibits an inflated self-regard or who has limited authority while taking impressive titles.[2] The formal term for the practice of holding multiple offices is "dual mandate".

There is a free app that you can put on your phone called Eat Slower. You can set it on vibrate, sound or both. I put it on vibrate and have my phone on my knee. It vibrates when its time for the next bite and no one knows. Slowing down eating has been the hardest for me. 18 months post op and I still catch myself eating too fast at times. Hope the app helps. PS ask more questions that is what we are here for.

I haven't given up any foods. I gave up the huge portions, but I don't miss that one bit.

You look sooooo good girlfriend. I am so proud to call you my friend. Keep it up! You are rocking this.

Love it! Whatever the reason, just do it for you. Plus we will need to see pics!

The band tightness will vary from day to day. You state that you think you are in the green zone and yet you ask if we think you need a fill. Why would you need a fill when you are in the green zone?

Today I look at my life and I am thankful. I am thankful for my loving family. I am thankful for a good job and a steady income. I am thankful for my Lapband and for getting my life back. I look at who I was 18 months ago, 250 pounds of misery. I didn’t care about myself or how I looked. I would wear potato sack clothes, I never wore make-up or jewelry, I looked like a tired old lady and I didn’t care. I couldn’t exercise, just walking up the 4 steps into my house would put me out of breath. I really hated myself! Thankfully I did something about it. I got the Lapband and lost 80 pounds. I went from size 22 to size 10 and have never felt better. I take pride in the clothes I wear (no more potato sacks for me ~ I hate baggy clothes now, lol), I love to wear jewelry and make-up. I want to look good, my smile is from ear to ear. Life is so enjoyable now. So many things have opened up to me since my band. My husband and I have doubled the amount of land we use for gardening because I can physically help manage it. We increased our flock of chickens to 30 birds because I can physically help manage them. I find myself always on the go, moving doing this & that because I can physically do it. I even got my concealed handgun license (Never shot a gun before 6 months ago). All this because I decided to change. Yes, I changed everything….. No more fast food, soda, junk food, midnight bowls of cereal, or gallons of ice cream and no more sitting on my ass watching TV all day. Do I miss these things? Sometimes. But if I have cravings I have a small portion of whatever I’m craving. Day to day I don’t miss a thing. Life is too precious to waste it away on pizza and greasy burgers or cake and candy. I am thankful for my rebirth on February 6, 2012 and I promise to live a health happy life. I deserve nothing less.

You look great, congrats! -
Congrats. Love reading stories like this. Enjoy playing in the Texas heat, bet it doesn't feel as hot without all that weight. I know that is true for me.

The only position I didn't like was him being on top, his weight on my stomach was too much. Otherwise it was all good.

My doctor said if it doesn't hurt, go for it. I didn't have any time restriction so I think I was about 1 week post op. It didn't hurt (felt pretty good actually.... ). So my opinion is go for it.

Minor setback, Major comeback

Keep that great attitude up. It is a lifestyle and we do have to change our eating habits. The mental side of this journey is the hardest. You have taken the first step and acknowledge this, congrats. Good luck I know you can do this. -
Be honest i can handle it

Down 38 pounds in 3 months, that is about 3 pounds a week. Which is above the average of 1-2 pounds a week. So lets be honest......That is great!!! Keep doing what you are doing, it's working great! Congrats on the progress. BTW - You look great, too. -
I mix a tablespoon of creamy peanut butter with 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt & a package of spenda. Love it!

Struggling with a complete unfill...
♕ajtexas♕ replied to dreamer07079's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take care of yourself. And please do not let these symptoms go unanswered, your body is telling you something whether it's the IUD or the band you need to know. -
Put the scale away. I know it's hard but quit worrying about your weight. You are healing right now, focus on your new way of eating, slowly with small bits... There will be plenty of time for the scale, but right now it will only frustrate you.

Coming from a parent my advise is be honest, Sit down with your parents and tell them how you feel, tell them everything. As parents we see you struggle but we don't know what we can do to help. Your parents only want the best for you, they just may not know what that is and if you don;t tell them then they will never know. Talk with them, tell them how you feel and what you would like to do about it. Together you will find the best course of action. Good luck to you.

I agree with Missy, something isn't right and only your doctor can diagnosis it. Please go back to your doctor, I wish you the best. -
