The biggest difference between pbing and vomitting is, vomitting comes from your stomach and you have that regurgitating motion where as pbing comes from the pouch above your stomach, no regurgitating. Vomitting is what you want to avoid (well you really don't want either), it can cause your band to slip.

It just happends.... your mouth fills with saliva so you know it's going to happen, then you burp and out it comes (like a baby spitting up).

Question To Those That Have Had The Band Already
♕ajtexas♕ replied to GodsTyro's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Missy is right. I only feel food if I eat too big a bit or too fast. When this happends my band is very vocal. It gurggles as the food moves through, makes my step daughter laugh at me. -
I would suggest you both check with your doctors. You shouldn't be having pain at your port. I hope you feel better soon.

What Do You Do When You Get Stuck?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to dj112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never heard of food getting stuck in the throat, I would ask your doctor about that. Food gets stuck above the band causing your body to produce saliva and slim trying to digest the food. The food will either go down in time or you'll pb it up. I would not recommend sticking your finger down your throat forcing vomitting (different from pb). Vomitting is one of the causes for bands to slip. -
Congrats! Let the journey begin! You will rock!!

I just saw my ticker since I updated my weight. It says my BMI is 25.96! Holy Sh** that's almost normal. OMG!!!

The band? No you can't feel the band. When I get a fill sometimes I can feel the Fluid entering my port. It is a weird feeling hard to explain, it doesn't hurt, just a different sensation. Fills happen very quickly they are over within a minute. Nothing to worry about.

So I step away to do my evening chores and this is how I'm treated. PPP wants to replace me, Maddy is talking to herself saying I'm no fun.... All I can say is luv u too. Here we are taking over another thread.....

Most of the time, it's not the band that fails, it's the patient.

You can do this. Remember the big picture. I suggest you have your shake before fixing your kids meals, that way you are not hungry as you cook. Plus drink lots of Water while you cook. You will make it through this phase, it is only temporary. Good luck.

I am so glad you have your mom for support. Ignorance is often expressed with disapproval. How can someone approve of something they know nothing about. That being said, I chose to educate the people I needed for support (hubby and parents). I also chose not to tell people at first, then as time went on and people started to notice I started telling more and more. Now I'm an open book. Focus on you, tell the people you need to tell and don't worry about what they think. This is about you getting healthy again. Good luck to you.

Journey Into My New Life
♕ajtexas♕ replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the weight loss so far. Slow and steady, that's the way to do it. You have started a new chapter in the book of life. Hold your head high, you are a beautiful person and you deserve to be happy. I too love sweets, I have them occasionally. When I do I log them in my food journal. To me, this is not a diet it is a lifestyle that we have to live for the rest of our lives, so a treat is deserved. And bless your mom for supporting you through this. Good luck on your journey. It sounds like you are right on track. -
Check with your doctor, of course. What I can tell you is I drink wine every night, i log it in myfitnesspal so the calories are counted. Alcohol does relax the band and makes you hungry, hence the reason some docs say no alcohol (my opinion). My doctor did not have any restrictions regarding it. Honestly I think I had a glass of wine the day after surgery and no I'm not an alcoholic. Anyway, that's my experience with it.

My Step Daughter Is Going To Be Fat.
♕ajtexas♕ commented on ♕ajtexas♕'s blog entry in ajtexas's Blog
Thanks for the reply. My husband and I have discussed her eating habits. He has tried to talk with her but she gets very defensive. She knows all about my weight loss journey, I'm an open book about it in hopes that if she wants help she knows I'm right here for her. For now that is all I can do. -
Doctor appointment went great weighed 181.6, total loss of 68.4 pounds!!!! I actually got .1cc removed. Allergy season has started & Yellow Rose hates my sinuses. Rather be too loose than too tight, gotta keep the Rose happy.

No problems with accuracy. It's the same as in the pocket. Sometimes i clip it to my bra strap and it sits by my arm pit. It depends on what I'm wearing. I've never had any problems and I've had it about 4 months now.
