Getting Ahead Of Myself
♕ajtexas♕ replied to CarrieBrownsville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot can go wrong. There is a reason that your doctor gave you orders to follow, he is the professional that you trusted to cut up your body. Why would you even consider not following his orders? If you are having a hard time following your doctors orders call you doctor and tell him, he may change them or he may explain why he wants you to follow them. Sorry if you don't like my answer but you asked. Good luck to you. -
I didn't get stuck, I got a warning & I listen & quit eating hummas.... after 9 months I finally listened. everything is going down tonight.......

Let me paint the picture..... family dinner (hubbies whole family there) I sit in a wood chair and about 30 seconds later.....a load crack and I'm on the floor. I was so embarrassed and I had to stay & eat dinner. I will never forget that night!

I broke a chair about 6 months before my surgery.....I was at my mother-in-laws house. Need I say more.... I gave up soda & I don't miss it! I gave up blood pressure meds I gave up 5 clothing sizes (So far) I gave up the elevator (I now take the stairs at work) I gave up the depressed person I was etc..... I love my band it gave me life!!!!

I ran into my patient advocate, Paul, at True Results today. The patient advocate is the first person you meet with and they walk you through all the pre-op stuff. Once you have the surgery you don’t see the patient advocate. Anyway, I ran into Paul and he about fell over when he saw me. (btw, Paul has been banded for 7 years – lost 120lbs) We sat down and chatted a bit. He said he remembers our first meeting and how I cried because I was so unhappy. And now I glow (his words). He said not only do I look great from the weight loss but my face glows with happiness. He said I was a walking Lap-band billboard. Me? Wow. It was so cool hearing that. I just had to share it. Now I just have to figure out how I’m going to get this big head through the doorway. lol

It may seem a long time but if that is what your doctor ordered for you then he has his reasons. Every patient is different as well as every doctor and therefore pre and post diets will vary. Just like medication will vary from patient to patient even if the illness is the same. I would let your doctor know your concerns regarding the time frame, he may be able to explain his reasonings to you or adjust your orders accordingly. Good luck on your journey.

Where are you located? Austin When did/do you get your band? February 7, 2012 What do you like/look forward to do(ing) for exercise? Walking & gardening What's your fave thing to eat? Before my band: ANything I cooked. I love to cook and I have to say I'm pretty good at it. So it still lays true today. I just cook less and healthier choices. Fave music groups/artists/types? Country music. Kenny Chestney. What are you looking forward to? The band improved my health, and I like myself again! Anything else you want to tell us? A little late on filling this out so had to answer some questions past tense. The band saved my life! I love my band!!

Congrats on your surgery. Hope you are doing well. Rest up now! -
I drink EcoDrink for my vitamins. My nutritionist appoves it. It comes in a 30 day supply, half orange flavor & half berry flavor. You mix it with 16 oz of water (come with a bottle), I like the flavor plus I get 16 oz of water as well. They sell it at both Sams & Costco plus you can get it on Amazon.

DesertRose man have we been worried. Though you were searching for water (being in the desert and all). Boy have you missed alot!!! Welcome back. The Princess & Maddy have gone to bed, they need LOTS of beauty sleep.....

Yes, look in the mirror and ask yourself do I want this? If the answer is yes (& I know it is) then you can do this! Drink lots of Water, keep yourself busy and when you feel at your wits end get on lbt, we will help you through this. It is only temporary and it will go by so fast. Trust me it seems like just yesterday I was in your shoes, but it's been 9 months since I was banded.... man does time fly. You can do this!!!!! You want this, you will get through this. Hugs for you!

Never Doing That Again!

Consider that a hello from your band. It wanted you to know it was there. Glad you are ok. -
I still think about food. Every Saturday morning I make the following weeks menu so I can do the food shop for the week. Every night I fix my lunch for the next day, I am always searching for new recipes on line. I have a garden so I'm thinking of what I'll do with the produce. I don't think that will ever change. I also think of food when I'm bored.....what to eat let's see what do I have..... TIME TO FIND SOMETHING TO DO. I go on line, get on my exercise bike, get my knitting out, start sewing, anything to get my mind off food. Try to manage the thinking is the best advise I can give.

I am so glad to see I am not alone here. Don't let the G&S police get you, come hang with me..... I've got a gun!

I am so proud of you & I know your grandmother is proud too. She is watching you transform your life into a happy health life. Bless you & keep it up!
