I also use Maralax, not everyday. If i go 3 days without then I'll take a dose and that is usually all I need to get things moving. Sometimes have to take it for 2 days. Talk with your doctor and see what he recommends.

I can’t exercise at work. I can park in a parking structure that is a block from my building I can give the elevators the day off and climb the stairs (my office building has 11 floors, my office is on the 8th floor) I can go to the bathroom on the 11th floor instead of my floor (& take the stairs, of course) I can take a break & go for a walk (it’s amazing how refreshing it is to get away from my desk for 10 minutes) I can’t drink that much water in a day. I can add lemon/lime wedges or crystal light mixes to the water for variety. I can carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go. I can take a drink of water every 5 minutes. I can’t stop snacking. I can stock my pantry with healthy snacks I can pre-portion my health snacks. I can drink 8 ozs of water before having the snack I think I want. I can go for a walk instead of having the snack I think I want. As long as “I can” I will maintain my weight and I know I CAN!

I was walking down the hall today and a colleague who I really don't know all that well said, "I don't really know you but I have to say I know you've lost weight cause you look fabulous." I wanted to reach out & kiss him!!! I replied " Yes I have." "As a man you never know whether to say something or not but I had to cause you are looking so good." Okay you can stop now (or continue cause I'm loving it). That put a smile on my face all day long!

Sorry Missy but I have to disagree with you. Fresh produce and meat is cheaper than prepackaged foods. My food bill went down cause I wasn't buying as much food. I guess it depends on each individual.

Your band will not help your eating habits. You will still be able to eat funyans, probably the whole bag too. They are what we call slider foods, slide right down full of fat & calories. So, ask yourself do you want to change your eating habits forever? Are you willing to eat Protein like fish, chicken, greek yogurt, cheese, fresh veggies & fruit? if the answer is yes then you are ready. But if the answer is no or not sure then rethink your decision. Remember the band is only a tool we have to do all the work & it isn't easy, it isn't a magic fix. It is wonderful when you do change your lifestyle and you work with your band. You will see success. I don't mean to scare you (ok maybe a little), I just want you to understand you have to change a lot to be successful. I know you can do this! It's scary and wonderful all at the same time. Good luck to you!

You shouldn't be so tired. Have you contacted your doctor? Do you take Vitamins? Do you eat your Protein? Do you see a nutritionist? Please talk with your doctor and nutritionist so they can address this. Take care.

Just because you can eat a steak sub doesn't mean you should. My doctor fillede slowly about 8 fills over 8 months. His reason was it gave me time to learn how to eat with the band. Small bits, chewing till mush and waiting 1 minute between bits. I also had to change my food choices, protien first, veggies, etc... I found the green zone with about 10 pounds from my goal. Focus on changing your lifestyle. Don't expect the band to do all the work, it's not a miricle cure. It's just a tool to help you. Good luck to you.

True back to work time frame
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Yolanda124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on a Tuesday and returned to a desk job the following Monday. It depends on your job and pain level. If you can take a week off I would suggest that at least. Good luck. -
I would definately call your doctor like CG said. Also, ars you eating small bits, chewing 30 times and waiting 1 minute between bits? If you are not then yes you will get sick everytime. I hope you let your doctor know whats going on so he can help you. I don't believe you mean it saying you would rather be fat. You want to be healthy, and the band can help you with that. Take care.

After holidays and getting back on track... suggestions welcome
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Isaacsmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Small meals, 3-4 ozs protein, 1/2 cup veggies, 1/4 cup starch. small bits, chew chew chew, wait 1 minute between bits and stop after 20 minutes. Follow the band rules. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. Not sure what you mean by get back on track, 3 pound gain could just be water weight and will come right off. Now, if you still have tempting foods in your house I would suggest getting them out. If it isn't there you can't eat it. Plus start moving. There is a thread in the fitness forum of a January challenge of walking/running 100 miles in the month of January, join us on it. Here is the thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/162529-100-miles-in-january-2013-challenge/ Good luck. -
I also recommend reading the blogs. they are located under community. The chat room is found under community too.

There are a lot of factors to consider with skin sagging. Rapid weight loss, person's age, and the skins elasticity to name a few. Exercise can help with skin sagging but will not always prevent it. & there is always plastic surgery. I'll take my sagging skin over being overweight and unhealthy any day.

It is normal before TOM to crave and feel like you have no restriction. Once I start the restriction would come back. Hang in there another thing to chalk up to PMS!

Band too tight or will it get better?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to AmyBK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is too soon to tell if you are too tight. You will be swollen after the fill. Sip your liquids SLOWLY. My first though is you sipped too fast and that gave you the hiccups, band warning you! See how tomorrow goes, sip slowly. But if you are still having a hard time with liquids call your doctor. I often had to relearn how to eat after each fill. The biggest problems we have is eating too big a bits, not chewing enough & eating too fast (& drinking too fast). Good luck to you. -
Anyone have less than 1/2cc fill?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to abs6angels's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also have had .1cc added & removed. And Missy is right it can make a world of difference. -
Have you noticed your loss? Do you look in the mirror and see a smaller you? When I started seeing a smaller me, I started walking a little taller. I started having more confidence and that is when others started to notice. That happened around 50 lbs. That was also when I started buying clothes that fit, that complimented me (not hide me). Changing my feelings about myself was my turning point and people noticed.

The Biggest Loser is a TV show, everything those contestants eat, drink and do is monitored during the filming of the show. Then they go home..... How many have gained the weight back? Floridays is right. My band will help me maintain my weight.
