Thanks for posting this B52. I hope all banders read this. We are not in a competition. We are just wanting to be thin and healthy.

We know you won't let us down. I for one am not going anywhere!!! I haven't posted as much because the Android app is hard to navigate (doesn't filter the different forums and so I get ALL new content) and I don't get a lot of time on my PC (have to share with hubby). lol

Small set back..... I had to have another drain put in my tummy this morning. My tummy kept filling up with Fluid, tried draining it out twice, just to have it fill again so doc had to put a drain back in, ugh! Doc said it was unusual the amount of fluid I was still getting but he has had to put drains back in to some patients. My hip to hip incision is all healed and looks great. My belly button is having a hard time healing (garment keeps rubbing on it and irritating it) so got a script for some cream that should help with the healing and (the best part) permission to go a few hours every night (while sitting watching TV or something) without my garment on. This set back is frustrating, I know I'll get through it and the results are going to be very much worth it. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Lexus, congrats! I understand about the garment irritating the skin. My garment rubs against my new belly button & therefore it is having a hard time healing. Don't push to hard to get off the pain meds, you will still need them! I'm 3 weeks out and sometimes I have to take them in the evening or at night (especially if i do too much). I agree, in the end it is so worth it!!

String Coming From My Incision Site?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to bamagurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is a stitch, nothing to worry about. It happens frequently and will degrade. Good luck on your first fill. -
I found that my body decided my goal for me. I never really had a number in mind, just wanted to be health (& thin, lol). Once I got to 170 lbs i found that I quit loosing. I haven't changed my eating or exercising, I just maintain (with a 5 lb flex either side). I am more than happy with that. My advise is listen to your body, it will let you know.

You have to copy CG' s user name and paste it into the pm, can't just type it. Or hold your cursor over her user name and a box will open saying if she is on line. That box has a pm the member button, just click that.

My Band Has 4 Cc On It And I Was Not Aware Of It!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Yadiordz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What I meant was the manufacturer does not put fluid in the band, it is empty and when the surgeon places it in you they sometimes put fluid in it. I am not calling anyone a liar. I am saying each surgeon does different levels of fluid at time of surgery. I'm sorry you misunderstood me. And yes this site is for help and to support each other. I thought that was what I was doing. I did not mean to offend you. I am truly sorry for that. -
Got 180 cc fluid out. Took about 6 pokes with a rather large needle. Was not fun. But worth it.

My Band Has 4 Cc On It And I Was Not Aware Of It!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Yadiordz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The band doesn't "come with Fluid in it" however some doctors put fluid in at surgery. The amount is up to the doctor. Congrats on the great loss post op. Keep it up. -
Congratulations on making the decision to better your health. And yes stay on top of your doctor and insurance company. Waiting is hard but you can use the time to research and learn the new lifestyle you are about to encounter. Practice better food choices, learn a new exercise routine and reach out to support groups for more education (both online and local). Good luck to you.

OK Princess, now that you are wearing the coral capris it is time for a new goal. Watch your mailbox for a pair of size 12 fusha pants.

O k I know about the different plastic surgery's but can you inform me what everybody that has some kind of plastic surgery what are drains and what do they do, please enlighten me so I know what to expect if I ever think about having it or if I will have to, thankyou and I am glad you are feeling like your new self, also happy for you that you could do this , When you have surgery your body generates fluids during the healing process, this Fluid collects under the skin and has to be drained out. I had 2 drains (left & right), they were each a plastic tube coming out of my groin to a plastic collection thing (looked like a hand grenade). I would empty them when they got full and record the volume of fluid for the doctor. The doctor removed them last Wednesday, but my body is still producing the fluid and now I have a Water balloon for a tummy. I go to my doctor this morning so he can remove the fluid....probably with a needle. Hope this answers your question. FYI - as painful and troublesome this surgery has been, it is worth every minute of it to me!!

Latest update. I got my drains out last Wednesday. Felt so good.....BUT I have to go in tomorrow to have fluid drained from my tummy. I have a very large water balloon that has developed on my belly (where the drains were) and the fluid needs removing. Not looking forward to tomorrow.
