The best relief is to walk as much as you can and use a heating pad. I had very little pain.

Erin, It sounds like your dad isn't supportive because of lack of knowledge. If his support means that much to you try to get him to go to your doctors appointments with you or read up on the lap band and how it works, the rules and lifestyle to be successful. You might fine he comes around with a little education. Bottom line is you need to do what is right for you. If your dad can't support you find the support elsewhere, other family members, friends, this site, etc. I wish you the best success and if you need support please come here. There are some fabulous people here that will love and support you every step of the way. ((((hugs))))

Weather, stress, sinuses, TOM, you name it can effect the tightness of your band. Some time ago I read a post from a vet bandster that said the band was like a toddler, you never know what you are going to get from day to day, lol.

You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing. -
Oh yea, my band will let me know when I'm stressed, sometimes before I realized I'm stressing.

Definately see a difference in the pics. It's funny how we still see our fat selves in that mirror. In time the brain will catch up. Congratulations, you look fabulous. -

I was banded almost a year ago (Feb 7, 2012). -
Yes you can start over, it's never too late. While you wait to see the doctor read up on the band lifestyle and what you will need to do both for meals and for exercise. Use this forum for support, lots of great people who will motivate and encourage you along the way. You can do this, I believe in you. Congratulations on turning things around. Hope to hear from you often. Good luck.

The gas that is causing your shoulder pain is the gas they pumped into you during surgery, (not gas in your stomach) so Gas-X won't help that. Walking & the heating pad are your best pain relief options. You will find burping hard and feel gassy after you eat and that is when the Gas-X comes into play. Congrats on your surgery & welcome to the banded life. Good luck to you. -
I think she is saying she just found out she is pregnant and it's been 6 months since surgery, not that she is 6 months pregnant. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Welcome, Stephanie and congrats on the insurance coverage, that is great. This forum is the best support around, I have made some great friends and received support throughout my journey. Just dive in, read the posts and ask all the questions you want. Good luck to you, hope to hear from you often. -
The head hunger is our biggest challenge, if only we could band our heads! I eat when I'm bored so I try to stay busy. I find it hard to just sit down and watch TV I have to be doing something else too. TV is boring to me and I start thinking "what can I eat?" and that leads to trouble. So I get my tablet out and get on line (like now) or I do crafts, puzzles, anything to stay busy and not think food. Love your hubby's rationalization on the DQ shake.

Congrats, keep up the good work!

I drink coffee up until I eat. Sometimes I have cereal, Special K Protein is really good. I don't drink while I eat even with cereal. Not because my doctor says I can't but because I choose not to. After I eat I don't drink for about 20 to 30 minutes cause I don't feel like it (again not because I can't). This is all a trial thing, find what works for you. But, don't give up on eggs. Try them as everyone suggested.
