Oh my gosh the pain
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Hersheyskiss21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I take too big a bit and eat too fast that is how I feel. You are starting to feel restriction, so you need to reevaluate your eating. If you are having a hard time keeping Water down the I would say you are too tight. Best thing to do is call your doctor. Also, your band is irritated now so you might need to do 24 hr liquids and 24 hr mushy. Just a suggestion. -

Congratulations, you look great! -
As I got closer to goal the weight loss slowed down. Being at goal has not changed my eating, fill or exercise. My doctor told me that my body will just settle at a weight that it wants. We'll see, been at goal for a couple of months now.

NOT Drinking While Eating...SO TOUGH!!!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to ashchap13's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Actually this is a debated subject in the medical community right now. Doctors are starting to change their tune about drinking and eating with the band. So it is important to check with your doctor and follow those orders. -
NOT Drinking While Eating...SO TOUGH!!!
♕ajtexas♕ replied to ashchap13's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some doctors require you to not drink before, during & after eating a meal. Ask your doctor what they want you to do. My doctor says as long as you wait 1 minute after a bit it is okay to drink. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't drink during or 30 minutes after. Always follow your doctors order, so check with your doctor. -
NOT Drinking While Eating...SO TOUGH!!!

They say it takes a month to break a habit (& a month to make a habit) so if you don't drink with your meals for a month then it will be your new habit. -
This is more for the old bandsters (but anyone can answer)
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Outdoorman111's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can eat anything. Some things take a little more care to eat that others, but there isn't any food that I can't eat. There are food I choose not to eat, but that is my choice, not the band stopping the food. -
Yes, plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. 1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.

Use the time to learn everything you can about the band. Hang out here, read all the posts and practice the band eating style. It will go soooo fast and you will be very prepared for the band when the time comes. Good luck to you.

If you are the only one who hears it then it doesn't count. Right?

We have a barking spider problem here in Texas....

Yay for you! First of many!!

Warning....It's so addicting! I have it almost daily. Enjoy!

I get my daily Protein from meats, fish, Greek yogurt, cheese & nuts. I don't drink Protein Shakes unless I am on liquids from a fill. I consume 60 - 70g of protein daily. Glad you like the Peanut Butter yogurt Grammy.
-
You can do it, just carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go. That's what works for me and I drink anywhere from 80 - 100 ozs a day. Extra bonus is all the trips down the hall to the bathroom, lol. Good Luck!!

Is it weird that I can eat soft food already?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Outdoorman111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As long as you are following your doctors post op diet, that is fine. Every doctor has different post op instructions for various reasons. If you are unsure I would recommend calling your doctor to verify what you can and cannot eat. Good luck to you. -
Can what you eat now, change after a fill?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Chris A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on your doctors orders. My doctor has you do full liquids for 24 hours after a fill then mushy for 24 hours. I found I had to learn how to eat again after each fill and as you get closer to the Green Zone you have to be more careful. I don't have any foods that I cannot eat, but some foods take smaller bits and more care in eating. Good luck on your first fill. -
OMG there is a space between my legs...
♕ajtexas♕ replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Beautiful pic, Floridays. I am right there with you. 5' 10", size 10 shoes, 171 lbs. I will never be petite. I am new at the maintenance myself and learning to think like a skinny person is difficult. I hope over time I get better at it. Happy belated birthday, girlfriend! -
Tight, then NOT Tight, then Tight
♕ajtexas♕ replied to hmd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, my band fluctuates tightness from day to day. I learned the signs. When I feel tight I stay away from difficult foods and sometimes just have mushy food or a Protein shake. As Jean said in the article there are several things that can cause this. I have learned to live with it. It works for me.
