♕ajtexas♕ replied to marfar7's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Jean McMillan had Band to sleeve revision. check what she has to say about it: "If you can hold back your tears of pity for me for a few more minutes, you can read about my life with the sleeve in my response to this recent thread: http://www.lapbandta...-for-band-feb1/" I wish you the best of luck in your decision. -

Missy you are absolutely beautiful. Congrats, girlfriend! -
Yesterday I went with my mom. Oh what a great day, of course I am broke now. Got a few outfits for summer and had the most awesome thing happen. My mom called me a b i t c h. Yep, it was great!!! Why, you ask. Well, we were looking around Ann Taylor (love that store) and I tried on a pair of capri pants with a tank top (just like the mannequin in the window), walked out to show my mom. She really liked the outfit on me so I turned around, lifted the shirt to show the pant size. A SIZE 8! She, says oh you b i t c h quit showing off (in a loving way). It was great. So I bought the outfit. I fit in some 8s & some 10s, it depends on the cut. I'm happy either way. Here is my new outfit:

Two big moments today...

Please don't get discouraged. This is a long and hard journey and you are only a few months in. Weigh lost because of illness often comes back on, so don't count that. Focus on eating health and be sure you are measuring your portions (no more than a cup a meal). You will start to see results. Happy you are well again. Good luck on your journey.

Over the counter meds with a Band
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Mary Johnson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I take CVS brand liquid adult tylenol for headaches. My doctor's office said that gel caps where ok because they start to dissolve immediately and will go through the band fine. But, check with your doctor to see what they advise. -
Confused & Frustrated
♕ajtexas♕ replied to TaraKaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Lap Band Solution is a good guideline, however it is always best to follow your doctor's orders. My doctors office gave me a copy of the Lap Band Solution before I was banded, asked me to read it but said that if the book instructed something different that what they ordered to please follow their orders. Good luck to you. -

What are the 10 do's and don't's so I can get back on track?
♕ajtexas♕ replied to Delajuana's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dela, sorry for your loss. Glad to hear that you are starting to take care of you. Keep it up and you will be happy again. I truly believe that. You asked for ten do's and don't and you got some great advise. The one thing I would add is get support, whether it is hanging out here everyday or a local support group, or family and friends, whatever just find good support. That was/is the key to my success and I feel is one of the most important elements in this journey. BTW - I still hang out here everyday for support, it is a great forum. Good luck to you and know that we are here for you. -
I so need a buddy as I am slipping back a little

That makes complete sense. Often if you are too tight you gain weight. You might try getting a small unfill. Also, do you have a nutritionist? I would recommend seeing one, they can help you with your meal planing and food choices. One thing I did was I kept a food journal, I logged what I eat, when I ate it, how I felt at that time, and anything else that was going on that day. This gave me a clear picture of my trigger foods and emotions. I was able to identify the head hunger and learned to avoid the situations that caused it. I eat when I'm bored so I try very hard not to be bored (I have the cleanest house in Texas, lol). Anyway, what I'm saying is find out the cause so that you can address it. We are all here for you and will support you. Feel free to PM me or anyone on this site anytime, we all help each other. You can do this, I believe in you. -
Welcome to both of you and congrats on your new adventure. This is a great site that will give you lots of support. I've made lots of great friends here. I would recommend reading as many posts as you can and ask as many questions as you need. We are here to help. Good luck to both of you!

You are only 3 weeks post op so it is possible that you are still swollen. I wouldn't write off any foods just yet. I would suggest smaller bits and waiting a minute between bits. I know you may think you are taking small bits, but try even smaller. This is something that I have battled since I was banded 13 months ago. My bit size and eating too fast, they both get me every time. It will get easier as time goes on and like I said, don't right anything off just yet. Tomorrow your band may act differently.
-
Yep, that is a stuck feeling. Drinking is the last thing you want to do, it only makes it worse. You might not of chewed the bit enough or it might have been too big a bit. Some bandster have problems eating chicken, (I'm not one of them) and say that if it is dry it gets stuck every time. It is all a learning curve. Good luck.

First Appointment Tomorrow
♕ajtexas♕ replied to jackj's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! Time will fly. Use this time to educate yourself, read this forum (the good & the bad), learn the lapband rules and life style. research as much information as you can. The band is a wonderful tool if used correctly. It is not easy, takes a lot of work and change in lifestyle, but it is so very worth it! I just wish I had done this sooner. Good luck to you and your new adventure! -
Sounds like you are taking them too fast. Try taking 1 pill, wait a minute or so then the next, etc... I take 4 pills every morning like that & have no heavy feeling. But if I'm in a hurry and take them too fast they sit very heavy on my stomach. If that doesn't work and they still sit heavy on your stomach you might see if your doctor can give you alternatives (chewables or liquids). Good luck to you.

First Appointment Tomorrow
♕ajtexas♕ replied to jackj's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! What type of appointment is tomorrow? Sounds like an initial appointment, before insurance approval, pre op tests, etc.... If you are having trouble sleeping use the time to make a list of questions to ask. You will find a lot of good information here and ideas for questions for your doctor. Be sure to let us know how things go tomorrow. Good luck!
