Well I'm 9 months out and down 97 lbs! I am thrilled with my weight loss so far. I would like to lose another 20-25lbs but my weight has really slowed down so we will see. But I am so much happier and more active. This was the best decision I ever made! -

Wanted to share some advice I received. ..
READY TO LOSE IT posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I recently had a follow up appointment with my doctor and he said im doing great. As of today I am 5 1/2 months out and have lost 76 lbs. But I told him my weight loss seems to be slowing down. He asked if I am getting my protein, which I am. Then he asked how much I'm exercising to which I responded everyday thinking that it was a great thing but he said no you have to take 2 days a week off from exercise. He said no one should exercise 7 days a week. Muscle is built during rest. He strongly recommend I start strength training. More muscle will speed up my metabolism and help burn fat more efficiently. His advice was that I spend two days of cardio, two days of strength training, and 1 day of interval training with 2 days of rest per week. I haven't strength training before so I set up appointment per his recommendation with a trainer for her to set up a program for me that I could do at home. She was very nice and gave me great advice she said you should never strength train two days in a row. Always drink your protein shakes after you exercise on your strength training days so your body will not take from the muscle you've already built. She also said that my rest days I could practice stretching or I could do yoga or palates if I wanted to do something. So I stared all this 5 days ago and have lost 2.5 lbs since then. I never thought I would say this but I really like the strength training and look forward to learning the palates and yoga. I am learning about my body and I was greatful for all the help and advice so I thought I would share the advice I received. Hope it is helpful to someone. -

Sure! The trainer gave me 2 circuits to alternate because she said I should try to confuse my body so I don't stall. The first one is inner thigh press with rubber ball, lunges with medicine ball, yoga bridge, leg lifts, crunches with medicine ball, hammer curls with dumbbells, dumbbell pull ups, and flies. The second one is 24 alternating lunges with bicep curls, 20 plie squats with dumbbells straight out, 2 45 second planks, 20 alternating reverse lunges with dumbbells straight out, 20 squats pressing dumbbells overhead, 1-3 minutes of cardio, rest 1 min and repeat whole circuit. I use 8 or 10 weight now but of course you should always build up and check with your dr. -
1st purge of the wardrobe!

None of my clothes fit! But this time I'm happy about it. It used to be that none of them fit because they were too small now they are too big! These to piles are just from my dresser. The closet is next! I've gone from a 22 to a 14 and even a few 12 in 5 1/2 months but im not done yet. Ive been shopping but I don't want to by to much because im hoping to get to a comfortable 10 or maybe even an 8. I have NEVER been a single digit so that doesn't even seem possible but I will just keep plugging along. -

I shouldn't complain because I have lost 68 lbs and I am very happy about that. Surgery was Nov 20. But.....I have made the commitment to exercise 1 hr a day and ever since I did my weight loss has slowed to a snails pace! I exercised 2 hours the other day and the next morning gained 1/2 lb! I know muscle weights more than fat but I have plenty left to lose and its so frustrating that I am eating so differently and so much less than preop and exercising everyday you would think it would just fall off. Just needed to vent and have a mini pity party for myself. Tomorrow is a new day. Thanks for listening! -

November sleevers! How your weight loss?
READY TO LOSE IT posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys! I was sleeved Nov 20th and I just was wondering if everyone was still losing pretty steady or is it slowing down? I have lost 58 lbs so far and knock on wood I have only have one real stall. How much are you guys losing per week or per month? I am happy with my weigh loss so far, but I cant help but wonder how I measure up to others from this time frame (and yes I know im not supposed ti compare myself to others but I cant help myself). How close are you to goal? -
Wow amazing! How much did lose in how long? What was your starting weight? If you don't mind me asking.

READY TO LOSE IT replied to cnunez77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a follow up appointment yesterday. I am 10 weeks out and I'm down 46.4 lbs. I am so thankful for my restriction and happy this surgery is working for me. I know my loss isn't as much as some others but I am happy just the same. I just hope it keeps moving right along till goal! I would like to lose another 80lbs.
