Feeling pretty good.
Rojasanoll replied to 1Corinthians6:19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a bit of gas but a heating pad helped alleviate the gas. I drove my car the next day and attended a diet meeting in our nearby hospital. Some people were shocked that I drove and felt fine during my introduction. I had a lapband and the surgery was easier than the others. Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
As a treat, I do use fruit and blend it in a shake. But I watch the intake for the day because you get lots of sugar in a shake. There's a tradeoff you have to watch.

Well, I only see my doctor about once a year now. Im close to level in the band. Now and then I do not feel restricted which tells me I can slide. I use this tool like a wand is waving in front of me and I tell myself eat properly when this happens. In two years Ive only gained about 5 pounds as my biggest gain back. Then I go back to all liquid diet for about 4-5 days and it triggers me back in shape. The only preparation I do is when I'm going out on a weekend where ther are eating parties, Thursday/Friday I drink Protein shakes and a banana to prepare myself. Enjoy my weekend, weigh myself, then Monday/Tuesday 2 out of 3 meals are Protein Shakes. Seems to work for me. Best wishes and Keep the faith.

achy bones the more weight you lose?
Rojasanoll replied to betty_s's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Check your vitamin D and calcium levels witha blood test. Your doctor should be monitoring your blood. I do take Potassium for leg cramps and it seems to work for me. Bananas, cantaloupes all good potassium sources. -

I use Costco last 3 years and I stick mine in a freezer for 3 hours to get them thicker. Just like a chocolate thick shake. -
Failed already?!?! Help :(:(
Rojasanoll replied to GRE110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You must be patient. It takes time to understand what you can eat. All of us are different. There is not a food that all of us like or can eat. We must try and see what works for us. Understanding how to eat and how much each meal is imporatnt for the future. Give it time! Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
Carry a card in your purse/wallet saying you have a lapband installed.

Wow, you are looking so good. Determination and hard work and it shows. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

I'm happy I am healthier. I don't miss anything, even sodas which I haven't touched in 2 years. -
Medications and whatnot
Rojasanoll replied to christinabryan89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had my surgery they all recommended for me to crush all my pills and mix in applesauce. But I did thsi for first 6 months after and then I went back to breaking the big pills in half an dusing lots of Water to swallow. I've had NO impacts. I still use chewables in my mineral and Vitamins. I was prescribed liquid vicodin right after surgery and I only used 1 tablespoon the first night to help me sleep. I didnt need it after 24 hours. In fact I drove to a weight reduction metting at my local hospital the next day after my lapband surgery. But everybody is different in recovery. But our common goal is basically the same, better health and lose weight. -
Congratulations on your appointment. You will do fine and on the way to a new YOU. Follow your doctor's rules, they do work. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

I have really messed up with the amount and what I eat ....
Rojasanoll replied to evh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Go back to liquids only for 5 days then to light foods, yogurts, Soups, small bites of food for another 5 days. YOU will lose weight get the pouch to get smaller and continue on your journey. WE all drop off being strict on our diets, but just adjust when you discover what you are doing. Lapband doesn't change our old brains & memories of all the good but bad foods we ate in our past. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Lapband v Sleeve
Rojasanoll replied to sexy_mamma1224's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm surprised that your psychologist would say this. He's not a trained doctor for lapband or any surgery. He only deals with moods, thoughts an feelings. He must be thinking of a gathering of information after someone has a lapband put inside them to make this kind of decision. Your surgeon and maybe with your dietitian knows what may work for you. I had a Allergan lapband installed about 2 years ago. I've had NO issues. Best wishes -
Your doctor wants your body to recover slowly and get use to any restriction. Be patient on your weight loss, It took you a lifetime to gain the weight. 1cc at a time if necessary.

Does Vegetable Broth count as a clear liquid?
Rojasanoll replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yes, all the broths qualify. Add some seasoning to it if it's too bland. -
Your hunger will appear one day. It's knowing how to eat is what you really want to achieve.

Do you hope to get smaller than your goal? Why or why not?
Rojasanoll replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just want to stay healthy a long time. If skinny comes, okay. -
lap band or sleeve?
Rojasanoll replied to Bonbini's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lots of data all over the internet on pros/cons. But personal information from people who had it done is what you want to look for. Visit the forums here and other places to get valuable input from Both sides. I was banded a couple years ago and lost over 100 pounds so far. Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
Congratulations, and sounds like recovering will be a breeze for you. Some of us get lucky. I drove my car next day to a weight reduction class at local hospital. The people attending were amazed when we introduced ourselves and I said less than 24 hours I was banded. Most said they had lots of discomforts and stuff. Guess we're the lucky ones. Best wishes and keep the faith!
