Sorry if this information makes you sad but it's true the band is suppose to stay unless there are complications. But Allergan studies that I had the privilege to read since my sister works for Allergan, states sometimes erosion of the band in 7 to 10 years MAY occur. These are lab studies and only lab work. Maybe the nothing is forever is still true. Allergan published medical studies and many many tests were accomplished to get this evidence.

Wow, Congratulations and best wishes on your appointment. Mine is scheduled for Aug 6, but my surgeon's office told me they are waiting on Anthem BCBS to approve the surgery. Hope it goes through. I've already completed all my seminars and lab tests. I have already lost the 5 percent before I had my dr appointment on Jul 10. My waiting game begins. I pre-register on Aug 3 at 11:30am Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Band date is Aug 6 at 1:30pm.

Treadmill seems to work for me. I started out walking only 10 minutes and at a slow speed. With a busy work schedule I walk on treadmill only 15 minutes in early morning. Then after dinner I walk for 10 minutes at a faster speed, cool down for 1 minutes, then walk for 10 minutes at a medium speed, cool down for 2 minutes. Then the last 10 minutes are fast, slow, medium speeds. The cool downs are for catching your breath and i usually walk at 1.5 miles speed during cool downs. Enjoy your exercise and if you can, go down to a local Walmart and in the sporting goods section they have leg weight from 5 pounds to 20 pounds. This will tone the leg muscles while you exercise. Best wishes

Best wishes to you and your misses. It's great to have a buddy system and share food and your vitamins. you can even push each other to exercise more. Lift each other up in those unexpected moments. Each one will probably experience something different but think positive and use this "tool" as a new journey in your life.

Rojasanoll replied to JewelsMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, that's great news. You can't gain any weight in this condition. And I believe you don't have any restrictions so far. I found the protein shakes fulfill a hunger pain for a long time. Best wishes on your recoveries. My band date is Aug. 6. -
I ordered Bariatric Choice chewable vitaband multivitamins, calcium citrate, and iron. They shipped the order the same day with free shipping. Tasty in flavor.

Whey Protein And My Stomach Do Not Agree
Rojasanoll replied to 2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buy yourself a small Whey protein that is egg protein if the milk product is bothering you. It will be worth it to your maintaining your daily protein total. -
My sister works for Allergan, who makes a band. I've read lots of Allergan findings and lab studies and have selected a surgeon who uses the Allergan band. As the band is only a tool, either band is good, but only as good was when we work to achieve our goals. Be positive!

Nervous About My First Appointment!!
Rojasanoll replied to mommyvega3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dreams are only positive. I really want to be healthy and want to start my new journey with the band. I look at all the possibilites that will come back from years ago when I lose some weight. Not just looking better, but actually being more productive to myself and to my family. And prednisone has a way to help you breathe better but also give you much weight retention. My dearly departed wife was on 60mg of prednisone and she gained about 55 pounds. But being older and almost 5 foot 10 inches tall, she could carry her weight gain. Lose weight and you will breathe easier, then the familoy doctor should wean you off slowly prednisone. Best wishes Best wishes on your new journey. -
Welcome and Congratulations. You are on your way now to your ultimate goal. It will go by quickly, just do the labs and I had to attend two seminars and meet the dietitian. My band date is closer now, Aug 6.

Banded In Aug And Im A Little Nervous
Rojasanoll replied to bonnielynn07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be banded Aug 6, so mine is right around the corner. I've never once thought of what I will experience in discomfort or pain, only have positive thoughts in how healthy I will be and feel once I start losing more weight and then keeping it off. I believe this procedure is a God sent small miracle that is truly a non-evasive procedure. Only think positive in getting healthy and living a good life for yourself and for your family. You are doing the right thing for you. I believe this as true. Good luck on your new future journey. I will be there for you always and others will also be there. -
Finally Have My Surgery Date!
Rojasanoll replied to cmarie317's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Buy some Crystal light flavors to use with water. I freeze the water and Crystal light in the freezer and it comes out like a snow cone texture. You feel like you are eating ice cream. Congratulations on your date! Mine is Aug 6. -

I start my self imposed fast diet with protein shakes 3 meals eac day until Aug 5. My band date is Aug 6 at 1:30pm. My surgeon didn't impose any thing on me except clear liquids on Aug 5 and no food after Aug 5 midnight. I just want to come into band date as light as possible. -

When Did You Feel 100% Better After Surgery?
Rojasanoll replied to newskinnygal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand Gall Bladder surgery takes longer to heal and feel good. The lapband surgery is Aug 6 and you still have 14 days until school. I believe you will be alright. My band is on Aug 6. -
What Was The Final Straw To Help You Make Your Decision?
Rojasanoll replied to ashiashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Like some have already stated, I'm a big yo-yo, up then down and then start all over. Since the daeth of my wife in 2002, I have constantly gained then lost, but I don't consider this depression that caused for me to gain weight. I did on my own. Then early this year, my sister who works for Allergan, brought home a proto-type lapband that her company makes with plenty of reading material about the process of Lapband and some of Allergan's findings. I was sold and now I'm waiting for my band date of Aug. 6. -
