Welcome and Congratulations on your upcoming band date. Your journey begins.. I do my pre-register at hospital on Aug 3. My surgery is scheduled on Aug 6. I've lost at least 27 pds and I'm hoping to lose over 30 pds by Aug 3. I can hardly wait and I am very anixous for my band. This tool will make it easier to lose the weight and not be on a yo yo effect on my weight. I've completely changed all my eating habits to get ready for band date. Welcome to this forum. Waiting too be banded on Aug 6, 1:30pm. Pre-register at Santa Barbara hopsital is on Aug 3.

Costco's Premier Protein shake, 11 0z and 30g of protein. Love the chocolate shake. 18 each for $24.99 ready to drink. I stick mine in the freezer for 45 minutes and it comes out like a thick smoothie.

I wonder if they could mark the area somehow so its accurate for the doctor. Lidocaine is a great idea. Prior to seeing your doctor I wonder of you used oral gel on the area if it would also help.

Prayers for you and hope you get resolvement. Get back with yoru doctor and they can cite all the reasons why you need this surgery(blood pressure,sleep apnea,etc). Hang in there and try and stay on your diet.

All you people are positive in your recovery thoughts. Way to go. I'm sure any discomfort will go away soon and it is important to drink your fluids and use shaved/crushed ice chips. If you have a snow cone machine use it to make your ice smooth to swallow. Best wishes to all of you. Keep us informed. My band date is Aug.6.

Wow, you are so close to start your new journey. I have to wait 13 days for mine but I'm so ready. I will also go Lapband and I hope to use this tool as best as I can. I'm tired of a big yo-yo that I've been on for years. I have all my food products ready for the first month and 6 months of chewable Vitamins. Best wishes on your band day, Ruffian. My surgeon said Clear liquids the day before. But I've been on Protein shakes, light salad and lots of chewable Vitamins to try and better myself prior to surgery. I only ahd to lose 12 pounds and I did that in 10 days but now I'm down close to 25 pounds. My surgery date is Aug 6 and I hope to be close to 30 pounds lighter. Best wishes

I am scheduled for lapband on Aug. 6. I only wanted in and out service and not 4 days in the hospital. I didn't want the extra risk involved in recovery. The band is reversible. Yes, there are side effects to all the surgeries, people are differnt in their recoveries. I had a deep feeling about the band because my sister works for Allergan, maker of the band, and I was able through her to obtain lab studies and test results over a period of years from Allergan. I talked with my dietitian and my surgeon. They both recommended the lapband procedure and I agreed with them. Best wishes in your selection.

You will find on this forum people in need of weight reduction. It really doesn't make a difference to any of us what your weight is at. YOU know what it is and that's what counts the most.
