Rojasanoll replied to MyHighway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually wait about 30-40 minutes after eating to drink any fluids. If I going to get a stuck feeling it is usually at Breakfast. Best wishes -
Been Plateaued Forever...
Rojasanoll replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When this happens to me, I go back for 2-3 days max on liquid protein shakes and some lowfat greek yougurt. Maybe some light soups or chicken broth with some spices added for flavor. It jump starts my body and then I start losing weight. -
Banded for 8 months and have lost 6.5 stone
Rojasanoll replied to juleru's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations on your weight loss. You're doing good and going down in weight. All of us lose at a different rate. Best wishes -
Your body changed lots since the band was installed. Ask the doctor if you received a pre-fill during surgery.

3.5 yrs out/2 bands
Rojasanoll replied to pennreporter's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! Awesome mental qualities here. You didn't give up and that's important. Congratulations on attacking yoru situation and staying on course. I think people here think, I get the band and I can eat anything just not as much. If any of us eat the wrong foods over and over even though it might be only 4oz, WE will gain weight. It's good that you used your senses and selected a doctor that will work for you and be there for any problem. Best Wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Many short walks helped me and in 24 hours almost all gas was gone. I drove my car on the second day and attended a lapband meeting at my hospital. The heating pad really works as well. I put it by my shoulder blades 20 minutes every 2-3 hours. Sip lots of Water. Follow doctor's orders. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

Rojasanoll replied to Wendydarling19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I carried on my duties the next day including driving my car. I did take a couple of days off leading into a weekend to rest. But I actually had NO problems returning to work if needed. -

Best Protein Drink For Supplement? Opinions Please!
Rojasanoll replied to Wendydarling19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since before my lapband surgery and preparing for surgery Ive always drank costco Premier Protein chocolate shake. It gives you, 60 grams of protein with only 160 calories. My doctor doesnt want me to drink those and eat food types to replace them. But its hard to replace them when you work different hours and can not take a lunch break. I have a small refridgerator in my office filled with lowfat Greek yogurt cups, sugar free jellos and Protein shakes. Best wishes and keep the faith. -
Going For My First Fill Today
Rojasanoll replied to Jasie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some doctors want you to stay on liquids 24 hours after a fill. Then you can eat mushies and soft foods. Now train yoru brain to eat properly, the Fills will NOT do this. I have 6.5cc in a 14cc Allergan Omiform band. And if I eat the wrong foods for 2-3 days I will see a weight gain. Best wishes and keep the Faith. -
Forgive Me For Whining!
Rojasanoll replied to freedom4emjay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What your poor body has endured with heavy weight and your heart working overtime. Soon YOU will be able to enjoy certain foods and like CG mentioned, Protein first. It's necessary that you try and eat 60-70 grams of protein each day. So your lean meats(Protein shakes in your present stage) is a must. You are almost done with the hardest stage, but remember on your Fills, they are NOT the solution to weight loss. Your brain must be retrained into proper and better food types. The band will slightly restrict quanity only. If you eat apple pie until your pouch is full and continue to eat apple pie, YOU will Gain weight. Select the proper foods by your doctor or dietitian, they should have given you information for each stage on what YOU must eat. Best wishes and keep the Faith. -
I was in n out patient and only one incision for lapband inside belly button. The other two small scars were for hiatal hernia repair completed at same time. What kll724 said, Get up and walk when You can. Force yourself to walk. After about 60 minutes post surgery and my head was now clear, I got up and walked and walked around the nurses station and into hallways. It pushed any gases and any left over meds out of your system. Towards the end I out walked the nurse, walking next to me. They immediatedly discharged me after this. Maybe if you do crosswords puzzles with two nice pencils in a ziplock freezer size pouch. I had to arrive 2 hours before and then my surgeon had a procedure before me that was longer than expected. Best wishes and Kepp the Faith.

Waiting For Approval!
Rojasanoll replied to BillieG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Continue staying on course to complete all requirements you can fulfill. It's better to get them out of the way. Start getting your diet in order, strt getting Protein shakes, sugar free jellos, sugar free popsicles and Soup broths. You will need all these. Lowfat greek yogurt I purchased at a Fresh n Easy store. I flavored with stevia . Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Lapband Vs Sleeve
Rojasanoll replied to LookatmeNow34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It begins with YOU, and only You. What you put in your mouth must be quality food items and Not junk or high carbed items. More Protein items, less carbs and YOU will lost weight. Give it some time. Not everybody here loses weight instantly. Your weight gain took years to develop and now you must have patience in obtaining your ideal weight goal. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Essential Questions For The Dr? Consultation Next Week
Rojasanoll replied to desertpixie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can't ever ask too many questions. You are paying for this service. but at least you have a start on good questions to ask. The doctor usually has a canned paper with many questions already answered. You might contact yoru doctor's office for this info prior to your visit. Make sure you all or almost everything completed that was required prior to doctor visit. Or you will have to come back again prior to official surgery day. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
You will feel absoultely Nothing. it's over rated in the discomfort department. For me I didn't feel anything different until close to my third fill, of course this depends on size of the band. Mine is Allegran 14 cc size. My doctor did want me to stay on liquids for the rest of the day, then next day pick up what stage you are on. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

Swelling Is Gone:(
Rojasanoll replied to melanndoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also went 5-6 weeks for my first fill and I actually kept drinking my shakes and introduce stage 1 foods as well. I used the Protein shake at Breakfast, around 10am lowfat greek yogurt, around 12noon some chicken Soup stock, 2pm some sugar free Jello. I was actually quite full. Foir me its something in the pouch every 2 -3 hours was a good thing. Plus drink your 64 oz of Water as well. Best wishes and Keep the Faith -
On a "stuck" feeling I jump up and down, like on a pogo stick. It does work for me. Look at it like a stuck toilet bowl. If you add any liquds what happens, it over flows. But if you plunge the bowl it goes down. So I tried the jumping and down methods, sometime 10-15 jumps and it appears to give me instant relief. The hot tea could possibly melt the obstruction. Best wishes and keep the faith.
