Rojasanoll replied to benton15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations to all who have come over to our side. Your journey is beginning. After the gas, slight discomfort goes away you will start being a "new" You. Remember to walk and walk to alleviate the gas/bloat inside and to SIP your Water often and lots. Best Wishes and keep the Faith. -
The doctor will probably put a fill in anyway. To lessen the chance of over eating, especially at night.

14Cc Band Vs. 4Cc Band
Rojasanoll replied to whitedobe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 14cc band and I only have 1 fill so far for a total of 3cc. The doctor pre-filled my band during surgery day of 1.5cc. The top of everyones stomach are different diameters. So this is why they make 8,10,12,14cc bands. -
Had Surgery At 7 Am
Rojasanoll replied to benton15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on your successful surgery. Keep your walking up in case you have gas. SIP your water often. Use your pain meds if you need to. Don't tough it out. It's not worth it. -
As you get "older" we all have two lefts. Glad you are back and ready again.

First fill was a piece of cake. Didn't feel mine.

Anyone A Band Over Bypass?
Rojasanoll replied to norcalgirl211's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best wishes and continued success on the band. Please keep us informed. -
A full investigation should be taken to find out WTF! This is so abnormal and the duration I can understand. It's the communication that bothers me. Why did it take so long for you to be notified? A next of Kin should be called in all surgeries if the spouse/friend is not there with the patient. Your wife should have mentioned to the nurses to contact this person. I did this with my surgery as I was dropped off at the hospital by a dear friend and she left for a few hours. They had a typed paper with my parents, friends cell phone and my sisters cell as well. Specific instructions were spelled out and they called. Prayers for a speedy recovery to your wife.

No it doesn't to most. Proper care in chewing your food and in small portions will take care of this. Shred, chop, dice your food and it's not likely too happen. If it does, YOU will know when you feel it. I only have had this feeling 1 time and I learned from my mistake. Dried chicken not chewed properly can definitely get stuck. Best wishes and I'm truly greatful for my new journey with the band. Banded on Aug 6.

My eval doctor ask me what's the worse thing about lapband surgery. The answer is death during surgery and complications. He asked me if I had tried other weight loss diets. He also wanted me to explain the surgery technique on how they install the band and where do I think its located. Try and use Youtube for lapband procedures for more information. It was 2 hours long and I got thre 15 minutes early and a 75 questionaire needed to be filled out prior to exam. Best wishes

Best wishes for good news rather than a port flip.

My doctor told me liquids only for 24 hours and soft foods next 24 hours. I had no problem with a protein shake.

Getting A Fill And Losing Weight Question........
Rojasanoll replied to fitfrlife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Fill as only a motivator in making me pick wise choices in my foods. The fill fortifies my brain to do good and then exercise to lose weight. As stated already, its really you that will lose the weight and not the fill. -
I talk with my dietitian often on phone. She's alway there for me. And I attend a local support group in my hometown once a month. The group is all bypass or band patients, some 4 years ago and myself, recently banded (Aug 6). Lots of wealth of information at each meeting and personal one to one talks. My dietitian also drives 1 hour and attends this meeting.

Do you feel it is "private" enough in here?
Rojasanoll replied to Hippiemama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have any problem being truthful about my lapband journey. And once you log into internet nothing is really "private". -
